Neither fighter separated themselves from the other, nothing “corrupt” about it, some people just didn’t like the decision.
Canelo is one of those fighters that seems to rub a lot of fight fans the wrong way. I think with most of those fight fans, Canelo has to dominate rounds well beyond that of his opponent in order to get credit for his work. Imho, he beat Golovkin close but clear the first fight, and won the second fight convincingly.
I scored the fight to GGG But I don’t think it was corrupt. It does Look Hellah shady when it happens repeatedly though.
It's very unfortunate that Golovkin doesn't have 2 wins over Canelo. Then again, I really, truly hate Golovkin fanatics so it kinda worked out
1st and 2nd were both riddled with corruption. This isn't a knock on Canelo, I was really impressed with the toughness and skill he showed, Golovkin just won more rounds.
As a decision, Canelo winning is very evidently wrong but that doesn't make it instantly corrupt. Byrd's scorecard opens up the discussion of corruption though. The discussion may well end there but it certainly begins there too.
Reminds me of Roy Geary from Prison Break. ''Don't look at me like I'm some con. You're as crooked as scoliosis.'' Then Oscar Bellick weighs in. ''I don't get caught.'' Yeah, I had GGG as the winner. Something smelly going on. haha I also had GGG win fight 2. but watching again a couple of times, I can give Canelo the fight. Booooooo. Still, I have not had that thought about fight 1.
I think that if we keep complaining about the decision enough, people believe that someone somewhere in the sanctioning bodies will finally come around and change the official scorecards and "make things right".
Considering fight I was a draw I say legit Canelo took rounds 1-3 and 10-12 clear as day gassed during middle rounds allowing GGG to have some sucess corrected it and beat him down in fight II
C'mon ,the only reason Adelaide Byrd is so reknown in Boxing is because of her corrupt bought & paid for scoring...
