Boxing in the UK has fallen off. The number one heavy is American. Cruiser/175 are barren. Froch and Calzaghe have been succeeded by two UK frauds in Smith and BJ. Khan/Brock are finished as top fighters. You guys basically are pinning hope on Warrington and Taylor. These guys aren’t even cracking a lot of pfp lists.
Since when is the #1 HW American? Joshua has the best résumé, Usyk is the best H2H and Wilder already lost to Fury... Also it's naive and wrong to act like the UK heavyweight scene isn't levels ahead of the US. There's a Brit on the top CWs, no Americans. The prospects in Britain's LHW scene are awesome. Callum Johnson is probably top 10 too. The entire top 3 at SMW is British. Warrington and Taylor are Britain's best guys right now, but it's foolish to say they're the only good ones. Saunders, Smith, Ryder, Yafai, Fury and Joshua are all very good, and in contention for the best in the divisions they fight in. And that's the world wide scene. The domestic scene is absolutely booming right now as well. You've really been on a run of **** posts lately, even for your standards.
Uk falling off? AJ regularly sell out Cardif and Wembley, we have never seen a fighter anywhere near of being even quarter of big seller as AJ currently is. Whyte - Regular PPV fighter who does decent gates recents does very well. Loma vs Campbell - sold out. Bellew vs Uysk + Haye 1 & 2 all sold very well. As far champs go we have the unified HW champ with the superior resume to to others in the divison. Taylor- unified champ, just won WBSS and should be in top 10 P4P lists. C. Smith - unified champ, won the WBS. BJS - two weight divison champ. Warrington & Yafai too.
Well since this thread is about Ortiz, I'll give my two cents. From one point of view, Ortiz' best victory is Jennings who went 12 rounds with Klitschko. Other than that, he beat David Allen, Tony Thompson and Hammer as noteworthy fighters. Now from another point of view, the only one who could beat Ortiz was Deontay Wilder, current WBC Champion. Ortiz (whatever age you want to give him) gave Wilder a hell of a fight and if the fight was stopped by the ref at the end of the 7th it would be a controversial but maybe deserved victory. Let's ignore the controversial extra recovery time. Nobody else came that close to beat Wilder (except for Fury who in my eyes beat him by points). In the second fight, everyone saw that Ortiz comfortably won every single round, easily outclassed the champ. Did he get too comfortable or did Wilder's masterclass find the right timing? I don't know. But anyone who gets caught by Wilder that way, goes down, regardless of the age. Having said that, Ortiz is somewhere in the middle. Somewhere between Wilder (champion) and Jennings. Somewhere among those top fighters who can compete at the current level of title fights. But where his real place is, we will probably never find out, because Ortiz is a high risk and low reward fighter and close to end his career. Why would any top fighter want to risk losing to a close-to-retirement fighter of Ortiz' quality? Just like his trainer said, if he's too old and easy to beat, why don't you take the fight? Many top fighters avoid offering Ortiz a fight. Chisora, Whyte, Usyk, Pulev, Parker, Povetkin, Ruiz, Fury, etc. It's sad, we could have a couple of interesting fights and find out who's better and worse.
Agreed to a point. But all these fighters ducking Ortiz, forcing him to fight low level bums and no-hopers on the fringes... I haven't bought that for a long time. And his refusal to fight Joshua pretty much told me all I needed to know about his true intentions.
Erm, wut??? Is this a translation thing?? You know the word MAP right?... Where do you think the UK is on a map?
AJ—Third best heavyweight. No longer fights in UK. Whyte—280 pound garbage man. Campbell—Can’t win a title. Bellew—Retired hype job. Smith—Nobody had him beating Ryder BJS—Totally fraudulent belt. Looks like crap fighting too 30 guys. Ped cheat.
Yeh, that English dude is me... Does your dad know you have his laptop? Its ok tho buddy, you came to the right place... boxing is where its at bro, the real mans sport. Whos your favourite boxer?? Have you got any gloves yet?? The guys here are nice, just don't believe everything you see or you'll end up thinking boxing is just about one punch.
Third place HW according to unlogical Ring. End of the day Wilders resume and Fury resume don't come close AJ, its so superior its not even debatable. Wilder's ex manager in Lou Dibella daid that Finkel, Haymon and Wilder had no intention of making that $120m deal to fight AJ and he been released for trying to make the figjt. Plus AJ next fight in Pulev likely to be in London. Whyte - has the second most impressive resume in the divison behind AJ. Has Wilders team running scared and avoided him like the plague to fight lesser fighters. Whyte win against Parker is fsr better than any win Wilder has on his resume. BJs you refer to as a PED cheat yet you praise Ortiz? WBO is legit belt, stop that LDBC BS. You stated BJS looks crap fighting top 30 guys what about Wilder vs Washington, Spzilka and Ortiz? Fury against Wallin? Smith - should have lost against Ryder I agree but hes still unified champion who would be heavy favourite against Plant or Benevidez.
