Style wise I think Haye is a much more dangerous fight for Wilder and Joshua. Fast and powerful, he'd present them with something we haven't seen either deal with in their career thus far.
A lot of guys lose power punching up on Valuev, Wilder won’t have that big of a problem with that. Haye had him shaken if I recall. Wilder scores another highlight reel KO.
Yeah prime Haye KO's both. Honestly though Valuev beating Wilder wouldn't be much of a surprise at all. Wilder is outboxed in pretty much every other fight before rallying to find a KO. Most of Wilders defenses would have been fairly routine for Valuev and I doubt he has the kind of problems Wilder did in winning them. This would probably look similar to the Washington fight only over a long duration. Not sure I'd outright pick Valuev to win as there's a good chance he sets up Wilder right hand later in the fight but he would almost certainly have to rally to do so.
Valuev is a below average boxer so he easily outboxes Wilder who is a horrible boxer. Valuev's chin is granite and he has a decent jab for a guy his size, so Valuev UD. If glass Shpilka went 10 with Wilder then Valuev makes it 12 easily.
This would be like homer vs bums wilder repeatedly smacking SNVs thick skull until a points win or wilder is JTFO
This is a funny match up, funny and weird. Actually, I always thought Valuev was a little underrated as a boxer. He is not that bad, solid fundamentals. He is just incredibly slow, which makes him look worse as a boxer. Wilder on the other hand is not a good boxer, only good boxing match he ever had was Stiverne I really. But he is SO fast, it’s baffling how quickly he can deliver that right hand. And the power on him doesn’t even need mentioning. The speed difference would decide this. I have never seen Valuev being able to move out of the way for anything, ever. Wilder would bomb away at Valuev’s giant head until it went right off his shoulders. But it may take some time.
Haye couldn't touch Valuev with 10 ounce gloves. At the same time in sparring , Haye had Wilder rocking like a drunk sailor on the way to queeer street. That tells me that Sugar would ultimately beat Wilder, in what could be a thriller.
