Terrible style for joyce. Hes only really got his relentlessness and stamina going for him. That becomes moot when up against a younger, fresher man i would have thought. Hes also poor defensively and dubois looks like he can punch. Reckon warrens played a blinder with the matchmaking. Its a risk because dubois hasn,t really fought anyone...but its a very very calculated risk. They,ve picked a guy that looks wide open against dubois,s style. Good fight tho.
Great fight Joyce has been in with much better opposition, if he had stopped Jennings then that would’ve been something. DDD has been overhyped imo, he struggled with an old Kevin Johnson and got caught flush but lartey who was ranked something like 258th in the world at the time I’m going for Joyce via late stoppage or pts @CST80 @IntentionalButt how do you see this one going?
This is the fight im most looking forward to Other british fans be like Dont give him the pay day Hes robotic and boring We dont want to find out how this would play out rah rah rah
I gave my opinion on the Dubois-Joyce thread in the General a few weeks ago. My mind hasn't change at all. And it looks like we agree.
Eddie saying the undercard needs to be Warrington vs Shakur Kovalev vs Yarde Since when has he ever put on a PPV like that
Well said. Frank's used all of his experience and Joyce was carefully chosen. I think he's had this in mind for some time and working with Joyce has allowed him to get a good look prior to risking his number one asset. Whether the pair of them have enough pull to generate a big PPV purse is another matter. Neither of them could be described as charismatic. I'm a little surprised he went PPV on this one, thought he may use this fight as a way of putting Dubois out before a wider non ppv audience. Although maybe he figured Dubois Gorman did that already?
It really was but it it was such a polite delivery for an awful comment. You can tell it was forced and he isn't comfortable doing it.
Don’t think Frank could tell him to say something about his opponents blind mother. Or if he can then Dubois is stupider than he looks.
I think he was off script, because they would know better than to go there, but I don't think Daniel is the sharpest tool in the box. I hope they don't try and turn him into a poundshop Mike Tyson, he just isn't made that way. Somewhat ironic that AJ has crafted an everyman persona whilst I think he can be a nasty piece of work, whilst lovable Daniel is being crowbarred into a hardman persona that doesn't fit.
A good comparison is when Hearn put AJ/Whyte on PPV for the British title. Can anyone remember the undercard for that fight? @TonyHayers is the man for the job I reckon.
