When did the cult of Wilder start growing? Fury is going to beat the doors off him.

After the first Wilder-fury fight, polls consistently showed that 80%-90% of the boxing community thought Fury won it. Remarkably, it seems that a sizable minority are picking wilder for the rematch.

It has all been said before, but Fury lost 150 pounds in the months heading into the match, with no significant challenges. His musculature was visibly ravaged, and he still had a bit of a spare tire- frail and fat simultaneously. In this desiccated condition, he still won every round in which he was not down, got up from Wilder's best twice, and visibly rocked Deontay a couple of times.

By all accounts, he is ten pounds heavier, and it is good, athletic weight. Deontay is not capable of learning anything, so by what metric will Wilder win? He is going to get his ears boxed off. We have seen he can't knock Fury out. Fury's punches will only be heavier, and his chin will have ten more pounds behind it. Fury has has two tough fights, against Wilder and Wallin, to get his rhythm back.

Where is the Wilder support coming from? Are people reading a lot into the Wallin fight, because Fury knows when his homework is due, and he has ALWAYS fought to the level of competition? How in god's name does someone make Wilder the favorite here?

Well, yes, casuals love knock-outs. But Wilder only knocks out part-time fighters and the medically unfit. So why not let him take his loss and move on to someone with real world-class power. There are literally about two-dozen good prospects out there, most of whom can gang.

Wilder's fanbase only started growing after Aj beat Klitschko.

I didnt like wilder back then much. Up until he finally stepped up in competition and fought fury and ortiz back to back.

As of lately ive come to like him more .

With that said i like fury as well. With AJ being my favorite .

Im still undecided on who will win the second fight .

I like both fury and wilder respect to both of them for fighting each other

Your first statement is half true...All most EVERYBODY loves knockouts. The difference is that casuals don't know the level of the guys getting KO'ED and act like Wilder is KoIng a Prime Forearm.
    Seriously fans know the difference.

Personally I don't like Wilder at all, but I also don't like seeing fighters robbed. Again there is a bit of a bandwagon fallacy that Tyson won and out boxed Wilder. Quite a few rounds were close and could have gone either way but there was no way Fury won or out boxed Wilder and I think that a draw robbed Wilder.

I guess I'm not Wilder fan but I respect his fighting abilities much more seeing him handle Fury. I think Wilder will be better this next fight and might have more luck landing bigger punches.

Yeah as hard as I try I just can’t get the picture of him getting decked by Dustin Nichols out of my mind. Really want to like him too.

"Deontay is not capable of learning anything"

He learned enough over the course of 12 rounds to drop him twice.

Fury did his usual thing and it wasn't enough. Wilder has a far larger window for improvement and the firepower to keep him in the fight

Even if you gave fury every round from 7 to 12 where he stayed up right it was still 56-56

The first 6 rounds were very closely contested without many punches getting in consistently for either guy. I don't think fury is that much ahead of wilder in strategy or ability to win rounds

No. He caught up with a sick, desiccated fighter twice, and could not put him away.

If you haven't figured it out, Wilder was having too much trouble with part-time fighters like Molina and Duhaupas, and switched to physically ill fighters like Stivern and Arreola (obesity), Ortiz (high blood pressure), and Fury (weight and drug problems).

Fury boxed the perfect fight and still almost died.

Wilder boxed the worst I ever seen him do and still managed to drop Fury.

I don’t really know why ppl think Fury have a chance in the rematch, what can he do better than last time?

There is no "cult" around Wilder. People just recognize they are seeing something special when it comes to his power. And his fights are always entertaining.

There's really nothing not to like about him as a fighter.

He's always in shape. Always comes to fight. He's not dull. He's knocked out everyone he's fought, except for Fury, and he's going to try to knock him out in two weeks. He fights through injuries (he knocked out Arreola with a torn bicep AND a broken hand). He's no quitter (like both of the other guys).

Compared to the other two guys who claim the title - one ran for his life against a bloated 300-pounder out of fear he'd be stopped again, and the other was throwing fake punches in a wrestling ring because he needed to heal after nearly bleeding out against a no-name - Wilder is a breath of fresh air.

You know what you're going to get. He's going to step in the ring and try to take your head off.

People appreciate that. The sport has plenty of boxers who can slap a guy for 12 rounds and bore the pants off everyone.

Three months after his last defense against Ortiz, he's back in there again, against Fury.

Joshua fought two weeks after Wilder, and he doesn't even have an opponent picked yet. And it'll take him six months to prepare for a freaking knockover like Pulev.

Why do the Brits like Daniel Dubois? Because he knocks guys out. Nobody is saying there is a cult around him.

If he beats Fury fair and square I'll doff my cap. I have a feeling Fury will play with him.

All I see is excuses fury had several comeback fights and said he was ready. He looked the same before the first wilder fight and the same in the fights since

Wilder saw everything fury had to offer and can build off it
