I agree that Nunn would be by far Bernard’s best opponent next to Jones

I went with B-Hop via decision. I think anything is possible however given that neither man ever faced anyone of the other’s caliber at 160 with the exception of Nunn’s fight with Toney which he lost.

Hopkins roughs up and outhustles Nunn to edge by with a split decision in a stinker.

Agree. Sumbu Kalambay was an exceptional middle weight of that era. I don’t rate him as being as good as Hopkins however but still a good scalp

Curry didn't go past 10 either, and Curry did nothing at MW so beating him doesn't tell us much either way. Sosa and Cordoba was at 168. I didn't specify MW, but that was the weight I was referring to since it's where this fight would take place.

Nunn, unanimous dec. See Hopkins performance against another
super fast boxer for reference. If their is one middleweight
in history that may have had quicker hands and feet than
R.Jones it's M.Nunn, plus Nunn was tall and a southpaw
I believe Nunn wins this one convincingly. Hopkins would
need to repeat what Toney did in order to win this.
And that was almost a fluke. Hopkins wasn't as
fast or as powerful as Toney was at middleweight.

Jones was better than Nunn. (I am aware that Bhop lost.)

Yes, if you cut/drain a lot to make weight.

Yes, Hopkins clearly had problems with the weight during the end of his MW career, but in his prime he showed many times that he could go 12 at a fast pace. Nunn never did. He took a lot of time off vs Barkley and it nearly cost him the fight. He also took rounds off against Starling, but Starling was just too outmatched physically to really push him. And he clearly slowed down against Toney in the rounds before the KO.

And, yes, Curry nearly took him 10, but he was too physically outmatched to push the pace.

Barkley and Toney was the only two world class MWs to take Nunn past 10, and Nunn struggled against both.

I don’t know if that green middle weight version of Jones was better than Nunn at his pinnacle but still a fair point.
