    So Wilders resumé is great then, ffs get real

    The ratings are from boxrec and even if you argue about Ortiz & Fury being one or two places higher it doesn’t negate the point of the thread!

    No need to be hurt by it all though, as another poster pointed out there’s still time for Wilder, all he has to do is step up!

    If he beats Fury and Joshua in the next year, then his record very quickly starts looking more ATG-y.

    From a HW standpoint obviously. I dont think there much he can do to be considered a P4P ATG.

    Fury then Joshua makes his recored a LOT better.

    Just his resume? Nah. His utter lack of boxing skills are the reason he cannot even be a top 10 p4p fighter, let alone an ATG.

    That list isn't where they were ranked when he fought them. Hell, the last three on the list are where they are ranked today on Boxrec when you posted this garbage. Right? And not when they fought? You can admit it. I just checked.

    Why did you stop with Ortiz, Breazeale and Fury? Is it because Gerald Washington is rated higher this morning on boxrec than you have him on that dumb list?

    Enough already. Your list is a fraud.

    Why are you even bothering to do this?

    Why don't others start threads before other WORLD title fights going, "Look who he fought in his third fight 10 years and 41 fights ago. Isn't he terrible?"

    Why don't people start threads about Canelo's first 20 opponents from more than a decade ago and make fun of them before all his fights today?

    They don't because it's nonsense.

    Wilder and Fury are the top two heavyweights in the world right now. They're fighting for the WBC and WORLD title next.

    Deal with it.

    Wow someone’s really hurt by the facts being laid out for all to read, are you Deontay’s mum or his bit on the side as you seem disproportionately affected even for a fanboy!

    The ratings are accurate, his resumé is awful and that’s being nice about it.
    You can stamp your feet and throw insults around all you like but Deontay Wilders fight record is truly abysmal and arguing semantics isn’t changing that.

    His best opponent was coming off a near 3 year break, drug & alcohol addiction, morbid obesity and a depression so deep his family had him on suicide watch.
    Yet with nothing more than a couple of extended sparring bouts to tune up he (ahem) drew with Wilder. (Everyone other than Wilder, his mum and his bit on the side knows Fury got robbed of the points win)

    Are you honestly arguing the merits of Gerald Washington as an opponent that builds Wilders ATG claims?

    Denial & desperation in the face of a ridiculously poor resumé for a WBC World Champion with 43 fights behind him!

    You ask why am I doing this, well it’s a boxing fans forum old lad, where people share their opinions, information and enter into debate, normally with other reasonable fans. Which part of that don’t you get?

    Also, when people are offering Wilder up as an ATG, comparing him with Mike Tyson & Lennox Lewis or discussing the merits of his fight record with that of Rocky Marciano then I think some context is required. To that end I put Wilders resumé up there for all to see, what’s wrong with that?

    Now you can argue that Ortiz should be higher in the rankings or maybe you might disagree with where Washington was ranked etc etc but what’s not contestable is that Wilders 43 fight resume is rubbish!

    He’s been ‘doing the job’ against horrible opposition, where’s the genuine merit in beating blokes outside the top 100 in your 30 something fights?

    If he beats Fury, Whyte, Parker, Joshua etc in the same manner then he begins to have some respectability but as it stands nah!

    Just because Wilder is the current champ and he is fighting Fury next DOES NOT MAKE FURY AND Wilder the top two!!!!!!

    In this case it means Wilder has held the WBC belt HOSTAGE because we have seen how easy it is to accidentally become a champ like Charles Martin did

    And the fact that Wilder has ducked Whyte numerous times and Fury was placed ahead of Whyte numerous times with no justification

    Dillian and AJ are the best heavyweight in the workd right now based on credentials ..resume.. attitude to the sport ... not ducking (except that time AJ lowballed Whyte)

    Your lying is worse than HILARY CLINTON

    Whyte and AJ are the peoples champ... your guys have no fan base worth mentioning

    True, BUT Wilder is already close to 35 so it's all downhill for him from now on.
    Even highly skilled fighters like Wlad or Lewis declined a lot in late 30s. Wilder would be just a punching bag for top fighters. If he fights them of course.

    There's an argument that if Wilder beats Fury and Joshua he will be an ATG.

    But you could substitute Wilder's name of any able bodied male on Earth and make the same argument. If I beat Fury and Joshua I'd probably be an ATG. But I won't and I doubt Wilder will. If's and but's.

    The same boxing critics and historians have said of Marciano, his record woulda been " bum of the month "...and I believe he won a few controversial freebies.
