He's in a division completely dominated by Inoue(especially if he beats Casimero). Will Haymon allow him go over for one last big paycheque? Hes only getting slow and easier to get to. PBC don't have a tonne at 118. Rodriguez? The middle Russell brother? Maybe he moves back up and fights Nery at 122? Figueuroa and Fulton at 122 also. How does he finish out his career?
The rigo i know always challenges himself He moved up for donaire. And went directly to him . He moved up and went directly to loma The rigo i know challenges himself and is always looking for the next big challenge. Promotional issues didn't stop rigo loma . Rigo will go directly to inoue and challenge himself again. Thats the rigo i know..
...idk, BKB? Not sure anybody (even former Chacal super-fans) are clamoring for him to remain in our sport at this point.
Rigondeaux last night didn't look sharp, and didn't seem to pick up on the fact that he was wobbling Solis when he would land the left hand. After the first round, where he fought in a phone booth and got drilled multiple times, he went to boxing, and while he slipped, and made Solis miss, he did look a bit slower. His timing and accuracy was also off, and he wasn't letting his hands go much. Honestly he kinda looked like he did against Francisco. I don't like the pairing of Rigo with Shields. They need to bring Pedro Diaz back in. He seems to be the only trainer that gets Rigondeaux sharp, and motivated for fights.
Which means he could be in his 40's. I hope he saved most of his money. It might be time for him to become a trainer, he has a wealth of boxing knowledge to teach.
