I had it 3-2 Reyes. I thought Reyes won the first 3 rounds fairly comfortably. The last two rounds Reyes workrate dropped off dramatically and I can see why anybody could/would give Jones the last 2 as he was the one pressing the fight. What this does say is that Jones shouldn't go anywhere near Heavyweight, nowhere near it, and that's why he hasn't because he knows.
Reyes is and always has been legit, the only doubt imo about him was if was to soon fighting against somebody as good as Jones. The Heavyweight division is trash and even this version of Jones still beats pretty much the whole division
I had it 3-2 to Reyes. Was absolutely shocked when one judge had it 4-1 Jones. Ridiculous. In the first 3 rds Reyes really came to fight and was throwing and landing CLEARLY more than Jones. Reyes did slightly fade in 4 and 5 but by that point Jones needed a finish imo. I have said it many times now, Jones is not the same fighter off ped's. Don't forget Jones struggled and went the distance with 2 journeyman middleweights who he should have wiped out within a few minutes each recently and imo Reyes recently lost to Oezdemir. There is no chance Jones goes up to heavyweight any time soon because he loses to the top guys up there imo.
Not the Jones of the last two fights for me. Might be that he lacks motivation at lhw after achieving just about everything there and would regain it with a move up to HW, but if the Santos/Reyes Jones turns up against Stipe I would make him a clear underdog. And apart from motivation, he's 32, has been fighting at the top level for a long time and just come off two punishing fights.
Damn, having the luxury of Fight pass and different angles, the 4-1 to Jones is pretty much how it was and i wanted Jones to suffer a loss to give him a lesson. Watching round 2 with the sound turned down away from the flip flopping commentators making out every shot Reyes threw was a killer. next to none landed, they were taken on Jones wrist or shoulder, yet Jones kicks pretty much landed everytime. What i thought was a clear reyes round 2 was the opposite.
Anybody whos watched enough fights would have seen clear examples of fighters dominating then losing a decision and this fight wasn't close to that and while Reyes was unlucky to lose a close fight it was certainly not a robbery
I was counting every episode of the bout and i have Reyes wining first three rounds too. This content is protected
