Allen and Darch probably cooked it up yesterday morning as they mentioned they were at breakfast together.
To be honest, I couldn’t care less and if Darch in particular made a few extra quid by doing over the bookies then fair enough.

 

Isn’t Carl Froch a flat earther? Even some pro boxers can be stupid.

Besides most pro boxers that I saw comment thought it was ridiculous. Which it is.

 

Wouldnt the odds have been better on a 1st round KO, surely he'd have made more money going in there and flattening him in 1 which in all honesty looked like he could have if he wanted

 

It seemed he wanted a couple of rounds under him before he did the business and most likely made a few quid. Plus a first round splattering stinks a bit, for everyone involved.

 

First 2 rounds he was messing around a lot though, not really getting anything under his belt. Not trying new things, nothing just padding the fight out I thought.

 

Yeah he was showboating, hands by his sides and moving his head. From the opening seconds he was clearly miles better than Darch and when he did stick it on him, Darch just fell over. Dave's talking about some 6 rounders now against some better opponents than Darch but staying away from the big lads. Finally Dave seems to be seeing the light because he can exist at that level without risking paralysis from Price types.

 

Never understood why he chose the stand in front of Price tactics. Worst thing he could have done! I know Price gasses but you have to make him miss and hit him back

 

Not fixing the overall result, but can fix the method. Like if he told all his mates it would be on points. He could purposely knick the rounds without ever hurting Darch.

we saw his version of head movement against darch and it was laughable to say the least.

 

Allen would be best suited to fighting the winner of the Ali/Sondland fight next- I don’t really see the point of multiple tune ups unless Hearn is paying him very well to be on Matchroom cards.

 

In the post fight interview he said he'd be happy to box on holiday if Eddie paid his plane and hotel costs. I winced when he said that because even low level 6 rounders take a toll. He'd be better off planning a stepping stone or two, to the British title and should he keep discipline there's no reason he can't win that when Dubois relinquishes.

I am no fan of Allen but playing this out on the internet is sad to watch

 

One of about 100 nicknames announced for Dave Allen before the fight was 'The Real Gary Murrell'...............who the **** is Gary Murrell??

 

Just when you think he's turned a corner he comes out with that sort of thing. I'd like to see him get a tune up or two but done properly and then a chance of the British. He can then retire as British champ which given what he's put himself through will be an achievement and something he can be proud of.
