That punch in the 2nd round was a hard punch. Hearns was lucky he was not hurt more by it. That was his weakness. Leaving himself open when he is hitting guys. I think he was better at light heavyweight than Canelo no matter what people think. I think the guys today are easier than the guys before so Canelo can move up and do that.

Not sure Clenelo gets past Argentine wrecking ball Roldan to be honest, let alone Tommy.

Virgil Hill would jab Clenelo to death too. Hell, shot to bits Kovalev was Quicksilvering Clen until he slipped on a banana skin.

    Tommy KO 2 Clenelo

You are only as good as your last fight. And if we go by Canelo's last fight, then Thomas Hearns has practically no conceivable chance of beating Canelo Alvarez.

What exactly is Thomas Hearns going to do here? Knock Canelo Alvaerz out? The same guy who couldn't even KO a mediocre opponent in Iran Barkley out, is going to KO a far more durable and skilled Canelo out? The same Canelo who walked through and laughed off far harder punching opponents like Golovkin and Kovalev, is somehow going to be KO'ed by a weak-punching Hearns who could barely even get the respect of Iran Barkley with his power?

We all know power is useless here for Thomas Hearns. His jab and long-range boxing is also useless, because Canelo has already beaten far bigger long-range boxers than Thomas Hearns.

If you need to go all the way back when Canelo was still a prospect and inexperienced against Erislandy Lara to gauge him, instead of gauging him off his most recent performances, then it screams desperation from your behalf.

Weak punching Hearns?! He was one of the top one punch KO artist`s of all-time, he nearly knocked out every welter opponent he met and hurt Hagler, he also knocked out a light heavyweight champ.

And he'd do just that. No reason to believe he couldn't walk through and laugh off Thomas Hearn's best shots, when he's eaten up and walked through the punches of far more powerful punchers at higher weight divisions.

If Thomas Hearns was so great, he wouldn't be living off wins against short midgets (compared to him) whilst relying on his height and reach. I mean, his best wins are against much smaller guys in height and reach. Instead of being a scared weight bully, he would've challenged himself and have worthy accomplishments against bigger guys where he doesn't hold significant physical advantages. But that's not the case.

A coward (relatively speaking of course compared to Canelo Alvarez) like Thomas Hearns doesn't even deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as Canelo Alvarez, after his recent wins against Golovkin and Sergey Kovalev. Nothing Thomas Hearns has done (or has the courage / balls to do), is anywhere near as impressive as those performances of Canelo Alvarez.

Hearns was one of the most skilled boxders evder he even outboxed a dangerous super fast fighter like Leonard, his jab was far longer than Canelo`s, it was one of the most effective jabs in history and his right hand was legendary, he faded a bit after the Hagler fight on a technical level, before that he was one of the best fighters of all-time, Canelo could never have matched Tommy`s performance with a master boxer like Benitez at all.

So where was this power against Iran Barkley then? Oh right, nonexistent! Guess what? Canelo Alvarez is even more durable and defensively even more elusive than Iran Barkley.

So a guy (Thomas Hearns) who failed to KO Iran Barkley, is posing no knockout threat to Canelo Alvarez.

    Let's see!

A glass-jawed weight bully who lacked the balls and abilities to beat elite guys his own size and height and instead relied on his height and reach advantages against much shorter and smaller opponents, vs a guy with a near bomb-proof chin who has the balls, courage and ability to beat much bigger elite opponents who are also long-range boxers like Thomas hearns, but are even bigger and more powerful.

Yes, this one is very easy and it's not a joke. Canelo absolutes stomps Thomas Hearns!

You`re telling me the right hands Hearns rocked Hagler with wouldn`t have hurt Barkley, Roldan was as tough as Barkley.

Hearns was at his fastest at 147 and 154 that`s why he fought at those weights against greats like Leonard and Benitez.

    Stop engaging him Mark.

    He's a troll.

    Well, hopefully he is.

    Otherwise, it's cringeworthy.

He doesn't even know the definition of being a weight bully.
