I spend £20 a day on lunch, I feel really guilty now seeing as we have a thread filled with concern over spending 20,40,60 a month My heart is sinking
I would think so Holler yeah. Both lads will want a big pay cheque and I don't see Sky stumping up £3M or more to put it on a standard Saturday night show. In all honesty I think it will be a good fight if it comes off and as stated, don't mind coughing £20.00 especially if the undercard is decent.
If you get served shyte in a pie for your £20 lunch mate, you would not be happy although you do like your pudding.
It's the principle really rather than the money. There just seems to be a creep towards making PPV matches from fights that don't warrant it, at least by the criteria I always use (competitive fight, world class talent, something at stake)... You're probably right. It could be a good scrap. I think Kell may have been hoping for a bigger name though, can't see this fight being a huge draw beyond the hardcore fans. Don't think Beefy has a massive following. As you say, would need some good undercard matchups.
But I wont know its shyte till ive tried mate, we've had you and others slag off PPV's that turned out to be the most exciting ever. Never know whats gon happen
It’s worth noting the current Saturday Fight Night rights fee is around £200k to Matchroom. That said, why you couldn’t put two of the heavyweight fights together on one PPV card is beyond me bar Sky/Matchroom greed. It’s getting silly with the amount of PPVs especially from Sky.
It's ridiculous, I've tried the batch cook - just not for me. 3 pound meal deal at tesco not for me either. I'll start cutting down.
It's time consuming but get the radio on and make 15 tubs to freeze, it's how the rich get rich..........and the bored get bored!
£31 a month mate. Still too much. It's the fact they make you pay for the entertainment package that does it. I don't want 100s of crappy channels with repeats of Love Island and stuff. I just want to watch boxing, football and F1. The sooner the TV 'package' is history the better.
Does it need comparing to anything? If your argument for unscrupulous PPVs is that they used to be terrible a decade ago as well, then it's not really much of an argument. I'd argue a decade ago was a bit more about the boxing at least. I'm not naive and I know they were all just trying to make a buck same as now. But AJ vs Ruiz was a nonsensical fight to make, and then having the rematch in Saudi Arabia for £25 was a clear step in the wrong direction, just how much money do AJ and Hearn need? At least Haye was fighting in the UK.
If AJ Ruiz was nonsensical (and it was originally a late replacement of course) what were Haye Audley and Khan Prescott?
£8 a week for all that ?? Some people are never happy. You seem like the sort who if Sky gave you that lot for free you'd complain about there being advertisements during programming.
Er, nonsensical as well? Haye vs Audley was at least. Khan vs Prescott seemed to be a reasonable fight. I don't really get the point you are trying to make with these comparisons though..
We need to know what Adyamn has for his 20 quid lunch! As for the fights it can't be a shock that Matchroom, Sky and the fighters all want to maximise earnings. At the end of the day they are worth exactly what they pull in. No one is forced to pay.
