No. He really didn't. He got up on a nine count and was allowed to Pace around in the corner for an additional 10 seconds to ensure the far more lucrative rematch. You want proof? Go watch meldrick Taylor vs JCC and tell me who won

 

Oh I know you don't think that before I made that post. I hope he will be able to do what he did again, it's a little bit hard to imagine, but I hope so nevertheless. What he pulled off in the first fight was something no one would be able to do, especially what we saw in the 12th round. That's just not something anyone can do, especially not twice. Regardless of what happens in the rematch, I'll forever be beyond disgusted by the sport and the imbecilic judges for that despicable robbery.

 

Yes he did and from what I remember, he got up and was firing back and even backed Wilder off. Meldrick Taylor was disgustingly robbed against JCC. That's, to me personally, the most disgusting robbery in the history of the sport. Richard Steel belongs in jail for that.

 

Your point is that a notoriously controversial stoppage is proof that Fury, who looked in far better shape than Meldrick, should have been stopped? Interesting.

 

You get up at nine you can either go or you can't. There's no extra time afforded to gather yourself and shake off the cobwebs.

Taylor was robbed. But at the same time, if that fight continued for another round he might have lost his life. That's the game

 

Nope .It's that if you get up at 9 you should be able to fight. No reason to let him safely shake off cobbwebs in the corner unless your trying to dictate the outcome

 

also for context....considering what Fury had been through in the years before his come back. amazing....just amazing. Fury can beat Wilder....he is the much better boxer. no comparison in skill sets. am pulling for him. Fury will have learned more from the first match. Wilder....probably little if any thing. Fury has more options for the rematch. Wilder is what he will always be...a one trick pony...the right hand. If Fury can elude it for 12 rounds he can win on points....with good judging. He could even ko Wilder...I won't rule it out.

That is true, but all that was left is 1 second. We can't completely ignore that reality and imagine 2 or 3 rounds were left when we all knew there wasn't. He should have been allowed to finish and go to the cards. The referee knew that, but waved it off regardless. Richard Steel is known to being a corrupt scumbag of a referee anyway. Even in the first Tyson vs Ruddock fight he showed his true colors in shameless fashion.

 

You're greatly exaggerating the situation here. He didn't let him safe shake off anything. It was barely 5-6 seconds he gave him to prove he's still coherent and the fight carried on.

 

I understand both sides of the argument regarding the Chavez Taylor fight. I ask you this, I'm sure you've seen Mosley vs Mayorga 1? Literally as soon as the ref said fight Mosley KO'd him brutally. There was like 2 seconds left. What if that happens after the ref took a look at Meldrick and he looked ****ed up and he let him continue? He'd get crucified when the guy shows signs of brain damage later.
