Back to the actual fight. I agree with @Hattonmad about Fury fighting this as a southpaw, switch hitter. My concern in Fury doing so though is being too passive as a lefty to occupy Wilders right hand. Intriguing ****

Chisora. I think he's capable, yes, but it's a dangerous tactic.

No one wants to pay £25, but if the choice is pay £25 or not get the fight on UK tv, it’s an easy choice...

Mad to think Fury never had a full time nutritionist, masseuse etc. When you think about stuff like that and the years he spent abusing his body, it's testament to how good he is that he's still at the top of the division, with a chance of being ring magazine champion for a second time in a fortnight. If Fury lived the life throughout his career he would've been some boxer. He's still a fantastic fighter but we've never seen what he could have been IMO. He's been blowing up and down in weight from the beginning.

But tbf thats the attitude that will continue to see people either getting ripped off or priced out. Same with footy, here everyone has just bent over and buy into the line "ah if you want the best players you need to pay top prices", were as in the bundesliga say fans show solidarity around things like ticket price increases and refuse as a collective to pay daft prices, here everyone's a bit more like **** it i can afford it why cant anyone else, thats reflected in legislation then and fan ownership. So i wouldnt say its inevitable exactly that we have to pay whatever is on offer, though it does feel that way in this country, we could effect anything collectively really.

I get what you and others are saying also, 24:95 for a nights entertainment (though by looks of it could be a shite undercard so will more than likely be an hours worth of decent entertainment at 5am!), and you get ripped off for pints etc as well (though **** me thats gotta be some london prices that a bluey for a beer!!). Ive had to skip last few pay per views and watch next day instead due to financial necessity, i havent always been in that position and hopefully wont again in future, but it can and does happen for others. I want to watch it though and for this one looking to go halfs with someone else who is also on their harris.

I’m still shocked that Sugar Hill failed to make Charles Martin into the heavyweight Tommy Hearns. That man walks the earth like a god!!

He tried it very briefly against Wilder and switched back quickly. Wilder did comment on it post fight and said something like "he ain't pulling that (insert cuss word here) on me".

Fury is not ambidextrous, as much as he or his Dad say he is.

How do you work that one out? He's a left handed orthodox fighter who switch hits and has boxed southpaw for a full fight several times.

It's simple facts. There are few, if any properly ambidextrous sportsmen, in any sport. Hagler was known for switching but it was drummed into him as a boy by his Dad. He spoke about it as being something he could do but he did not like doing it, as it was unnatural.

Fury looks awful when he switches and gets away with it because he's already levels above most fighters. It's a bit like Ronnie O Sullivan who can beat most opponents with his left hand but against the elite he plays right handed, with the odd left hander if he can't reach something.

On the general forum there’s lots of talk of 22nd February being the crowning date of the new Ring (magazine) heavyweight champion of the world and the lineal crown being legitimately recognised.

On one hand we have Wilder who has repeatedly dismissed the lineal championship as being nothing more than an imaginary title and meaningless to him.

Then we have Fury who repeatedly dismisses belts and titles as meaningless yet is the only non belt holding heavyweight in history (that I’m aware) to engage in title bouts for the mystical lineal championship.

In my eyes this fight is only for the WBC world heavyweight championship with Wilder the champion and Fury the challenger. I would rather the Ring magazine (for what it’s worth) withheld it’s belt until the division was unified.

As for the lineal, I first remember it being casually mentioned re Spinks in promoting the Tyson fight. I hadn’t really heard much of it at all until Team Fury started ramming it down our throats in the absence of a real belt.

I was just wondering if you guys see this fight for anything more than the prestigious green strap?

Green strap is the best one and assuming it's a conclusive win for either, then most likely general acceptance that they are no.1.

    The lineal is silliness really.

Agreed re: lineal. Am a fan of the ring belt though...generally it’s only held by the man in the division...much more so than the other belts.

Lineal is meaningless when you consider Tyson twisting his ankle and landing on his backside could have resulted in Sefer Seferi becoming linear heavyweight champion.

As for status, you can make a case for either of these two plus Joshua.
