In the pro's ? Groves won by a whisker of a split decision. What KO was this ?

That was cut together from 2 different fights I believe. Still doesn't change the fact that of you do that sort of thing you better be class.

I trained in the same gym as Pat and getting back down to 9 stone was torture for him. At the weigh in Pat's skin looked grey. Having said that, it was some punch from Nelson. Probably would have taken out most Featherweights.

If you look, this thread was started in 2011 and has just been bumped. The post you quoted was written about a month BEFORE they fought.

To be fair to Jack he was at the end of a very hard career. He had wins over Billy Walker, Brian London and Johnny Prescott plus, unbelievably, a near shut out over Joe Bugner.
Jack was coming off knockout losses to Quarry and Jose Urtain when he fought Danny Mac. He was pretty much shot. His Manager, George Biddles, said so at the time.
Ooops ! Always read the small print. Cheers TKO.

Yeah, humiliation was the least of Jim's worries after that shot.

Thankfully he made a full recovery, but it's still painful to watch.

Got to be Tony Dosh PPV getting knocked all over New York by a little burger munching fatty with 1 month's notice - don't think we will ever see a worse humiliation in a boxing ring.

Yeah that was pretty embarrasing.. to have tonkeep going down and getting back up when you have been marketed as some destroyed doing your debut in New York and you are ripped like a comic book hero only to be taken out by an overweight guy who Looks like he was picked from the crowd

But the losses to Quarry and Urtain were so embarrassing that they deserve mention on this thread as well.

Let's be honest, Jack was never in Quarry's league, although I had him in front before the Knockout !
That was probably the end but Biddles always did the best for his Fighters where money was concerned. He sort of sold his Titles really.
No need to be disrespectful about dear old Jack though. He had tons of courage and always came to fight. Have a look at his record. A fight a month for 10 years.
