Sergio Martinez to return to the ring

Oh please no... I hate to know that he's financially unstable enough to literally risk his life by returning.

 

For the love of God no. If You need the money that bad Sergio consider becoming a trainer or commentator or something. Boxing has enough tragedies of old fighters getting badly hurt.

There are old fighters who want to come back to boxing to get hurt in the ring again. There are no any other reasons for this explanation but "they are broke now."

 

Maybe he just got bored. You'd think those millions he made would go a long way in Argentina.

Are you sure of that? That is not only the real reason why oldd and past prime boxers come back to fight. Some other come back to prove that they are not done yet. They want ro prove something that they are still competitive and can still win against real boxer despite of their disavantages and that is called GLORY. Floyd did not have the any sort of disadvantages all throughout his boxing career. He always made sure that he has all the advantages against his oponnents from the ref, boxing official, nsac, judges, to name a few.

 

Ah man what's going on?? I hate the idea of having fighter who was a beast at one point come back, especially someone as broken as Martinez (don't want to sound rude or anything but his knees are only getting worse)

Didn't we have a similar thread last Autumn ? It seems the threat of Martinez coming back is never far away. The tone of the comments haven't changed either.
I really don't want to see Sergio come back just to get battered. He could probably get by a couple of journeyman types although he would be taking more shots than he should due to the lack of mobility caused by his cooked knees. Against top level opposition the poor guy would get wrecked.
