I am torn between the 2 picks, but yes they are the 2 most likely outcomes...I assume most rational people will see it the same as us.

 

The biggest question of this matchup is who's going tie up Sweet pea and drag him into the ring, Whitaker wasn't stupid

 

Idk McVey, Hagler was a tough SOB, he'd hang in there against "" Hands of Rock "" Whitaker and make it to the end In my opinion. But by God it wouldn't be a pretty sight..

 

Just want to make certain I understand your post...so if I read this right...what you are saying is that unless Whitaker is forced to enter the ring hogtied after being drug there....that Hagler’s chances are slim to none?

Whitaker wins by first round KO after taking Hagler's head clean off with one of his patented ramrod jabs.

 

Agree with the consensus that Pea blows Hagler away, but I think it would be a body shot KO. A bit like a southpaw version of Jones-Hill.

 

Definitely wouldn’t be putting my money on Whitaker winning the easy decision, Fergy. Might be tempted if it was your money but it wouldn’t be the first time that Hagler would have been taken the full 15 rounds distance by a former lightweight champion.

 

In all seriousness Ken, sweet Pea would probably see the end, he'd probably do his usual job and have Marvin throwing at air. I'd be rooting for Marvin to blast him, Whitaker wasn't my favorite fighter, but I wouldn't bet against him still being on his feet at the end.. But losing widely I will add.

 

peawee bitchslaps the crap out of Marvin at the weighin, then leaves with Marvin's wife.. Hagler so scared he tries to pull out of the fight claiming sparring injury. they make him fight anyways. But really, I could actually see Whitiker just dancing for 15 rds, landing a few shots during the fight and slipping all haglers shots, I don't think the would give him the dec. though

 

There were very few 160 pound champs that a small featherfisted fighter like Whitaker could beat let alone a killer like Hagler, too much reach and power, Marvin`s jab was too long and powerful he would have destroyed Whitaker and anybody Whitaker ever fought.
