Hari didn't get overzealous going for the finish, he got overzealous going for an exotic kick (spinning heel kick) which has a long history with Hari...

Hari doesnt need Ricoo to get into sloppy exchanges, Hari is an excellent tactician in boxing and striking... he was simply better on both occasions when they fought... just freak accidents caused Hari to lose by default.

Badr would beat Ricoo 10/10 times for sure. He is just better, and Ricoo doesnt have a punch that could bother Badr... but badr was hurting Rico even with the Jab!

Lol... 10/10 times? Bro he's ready down 0-2

Hari was never a great at tactics. Very skilled? Yeah of course. But also mentally weak and inconsistent. Rico is the more composed of the two and a smarter fighter. There's no telling what would have happened had the fight continued but I like Rico by stoppage in the championship rounds.

Actually it is very hard to switch professionally between those two sports because of the mindset: less rounds and the training & endurance. If I was a pro boxer and face them, I would just drown them in the late rounds.

Rico was half a round away from getting stopped any same person watching the fight could see this

Rico was getting lit up I invite anyone to watch both fights as Badr was in control... Ricoo is durable but Badr can KO him.. doesnt matter now because badr’s body is finished

Badr has beaten better fighters than Rico, and the difference in performance was obvious when they met in the ring

Ricoo is good but he is a class below the K1 champs like Badr

    To each their own

You’re right about that Rico has a good condition and does very well in the later rounds of a fight. The fight was not over but you could see that Rico was very wobbly after the second knockdown. I don’t think he would have survived that round if Badr tried to finish Rico with his punches, instead of that ‘Leko Kick’.

But what you are saying about Badr’s leg is definitely not true. Hari’s leg was not injured by a kick of Rico. If you rewatch the fight you will see that Hari got injured on the leg that hit Rico’s arm (when Badr threw that spinning heelkick). His other leg (that was still on the ground and had to carry Hari’s full weight as you are saying) was not hurt during that moment. He injured his left leg. I was watching the fight live in Gelredome and damnn, what an electrifying atmosphere when Hari entered the arena, goosebumbs. That was some freaking special moment.

Assumptions. Can just as easily counter by saying that had Rico survived the 3rd that he would have very likely rallied for a finish in the championship rounds. Badt was in control and ahead on the cards but that doesn't mean he would have won had the fight continued.

Badr has beaten better(Schilt) but also lost to much worse fighters than Verhoeven. I don't dispute Hari having more natural talent than Rico or most kickboxers for that matter. But he's not as good of a worker, mentally tough etc. Rico is one of the most dedicated guys you'll see and aside from his skills and IQ that's why he's the #1 HW in the world.

Rico is more dedicated, and stable but when you say Hari is mentally weak you make it sound like he bottles it or doesnt have heart...

He has plenty of heart... he is over emotional like Mike Tyson when he bite Evander... there is a difference.

And to be honest, since he made that last mistake with Hesdy Gerges in kicking him when he is down... he became a much more mature fighter and fought in a more composed manner since 2013.

Rico is not known as a finisher at all.... Hari is one of the best finishers in the entire sport... the guy is known from KOs and stopping opponents, it's his god given gift... and Ricoo was very wobbly... we have never seen Rico wobbled that badly even when he was taking bombs from the Giant 6 foot 9 ben sadik who has a lot of power.

And who has Hari lost too that is a worse fighter than Ricoo? He has been fighting the big boys since he was 19 years of age

We will agree to disagree here. There's much more common ground that we share here than say in regards to Whyte or Usyk. I think we both can settle on hopes that a 3rd fight will be made and if does that the result will more definitive than the first two fights.

I want to see a gritty and experienced kickboxer make the switch and have a spirited run like Skelton did. That old man was a real player at domestic-euro and dare I say fringe world with his raw, dirty and marrauding style.

I'm just saying, there's no reason to assume crossovers will ever be successful. Elite in one combat sport could well translate into mediocre in another. No way of predicting.

    Exactly,

I think at the moment Tyrone Spong is a potential candidate for that, he just hasn't had any worthy opponents to prove his level as a boxer yet.

If I have to believe insiders from his team, his upcoming fight and opponent will soon be announced. I hope he will fight a worthy opponent or a recognized name from the heavyweight division, so he will have the opportunity to put himself in the spotlight.
