Not without ability and an excellent ticket seller I always thought West Ham's Mo Hussein would get higher up than he did. He did win a Commonwealth cup but basically his career was built around being top of the bill at the York Hall.

Excellent call. As Pat Cowdell will testify to, you were not on the ball Daho would have you.

Certainly TWE. Brave as they come. I used to spar him at Birmingham City ABC. Way better than me but never gave me the beating he could have. Or did you mean his Dad ? Now he was a hard case !

Collins was so talented. That was big right hand he had. Sparked Antonio Harris with it.

Almost guaranteed fireworks with Roy. Saw him smash Tommy Taylor and the very scary Steve Aquillina. Fabulous painter. Does seascapes these days.

Yes TBooze. The very thing. Giving the lot to be the Boss of your own back yard.

Roy once fought in Ghana or Nigeria. The canvass was so loose he broke his ankle... And boxed 8 rounds on it. No stylist but a real tough fellow.

If we were doing one on best and most skilful journeymen, The Professor would be second only to Billy Waith. However, I never bought a ticket to watch Pete. To be fair, in the 90's he was probably on the card anyhow.
Best journeymen ? I think you should host that one.

Tough little man with a lovely personality. He came to our gym to spar Pat and Tony Willis. Everyone liked him. Shame it went sour between him and Cowdell. A genuine small hall warrior for sure. Just look at his record.

Yeah, Mo could have it. Not well looked after I didn't think. He was a Lightweight but got chucked in with Lloyd Christie for the British Light Welterweight Title. Think Lloyd stopped him in the last round . Very brave lad.

Anyone remember Takaloo? He was limited but always fun to watch and came across as a top bloke, I remember him on Calzaghe under cards, Warren tried to build up a rivalry with Wayne Alexander (also worth a mention) who absolutely bingo'd him with a peach of a left hook. He beat Eamon Magee in Belfast but cannot find the fight anywhere online. Another one I used to follow from around that time was Paul 'Scrap Iron' Ryan, who was also limited but a genuine hard man, he was on a great knockout run before getting brutally stopped by John Thaxton (coincidentally, also by a left hook)

Tak is living in Margate. A really genuine and nice fella.
Was it Ryan who beat Wally Swift in a proper war ? I remember Thaxton planting him. Ryan was another example of what I'm talking about.

I remember his fight against the Spanish fella on a Naseem undercard it was pure entertainment. He was pushing for a world title shot before he came unstuck never had any amateur experience either apparently. Legend.
