He's still living off a SD win over an under prepared Joe Parker who was cheated by a faux knockdown and putting up a decent performance vs Joshua. Whyte went the distance with Dave Allen who every decent heavyweight has stopped comfortably, went the distance with Helenius who was stopped by Gerald Washington and Duhaupas, went the distance with Wach who was stopped by Jarrell Miller and Martin Bakole.. He also went life and death with a shop worn Chisora twice too. Bottom line he's around a ~10th best heavyweight but he's being propped up as being as high as the 4th best in the world.
also team whyte didnt allow team rivas to watch the hand wrap but demanded someone watch rivas. there was a big drug BS. and he was dropped by rivas and the scores kind of sucked.. **** whyte
He has a great record considering he isn't a world champion and he deserves credit for that. Instead of riding his mandatory position until he gets his shot he continues to challenge himself.
Whyte has balls and is willing to fight anyo ne. He is rarely in a bad fight He talks smacks He brings the pain I want to see him spark Wilder out.
There's three guys in the division at the top that need to meet each other. Then there's a second group with the potential to threaten the top guys if all goes well. Whyte's in that group along with Usyk, Ruiz Jr, Parker, maybe Hrgovic and Dubois in the future given Ortiz and Povetkin's time is passing. So he's not the best, but he's a player and not to be taken lightly.
Whyte that bad Wilder ducked his no1,, bottom line is if Whyte that bad why did Wilder not face him???
Whyte has a single defeat on his record, against AJ, an AJ that had all the benefits of sports science behind him, an AJ that had huge backing at the time. Whyte didn't, Whyte went in to that fight injured, he had surgery in the following days after the fight. Since then he has turned his career completely around with some good wins and has been mandatory for the WBC title since.. it's been so long I can't remember and don't want to guess. You can't dig Whyte out because he hasn't been allowed to fight for the WBC title, if he was ducking and dodging fighters I'd give him hammer, but the fact is he fought his way to number 1 and they just won't give him a shot. As for being overrated, I think nearly every heavyweight right now is overrated, Whyte has some solid wins, he may not be a world beater but you can't dismiss him.
