Lots of the usual sources reporting that Fury’s had problems in camp. Started when Eddie Hearn changed his prediction from Fury to Wilder after hearing a rumour about all not being well with Team Fury. Fury who has allegedly done no head sparring in camp has said “I haven’t been hit yet [in the eye], I’m not going to get hit in the face until the fight. I don’t want to jeopardize the fight just in case the cut reopens. I’m being very careful about it. I can’t risk getting this cut reopened in training camp. If it’s going to reopen, let it be on the night of the fight, not in training”. Fury has previous for mind games, so with a pinch of salt I’m guessing he’s probably started the rumours himself.
Really looking forward to this fight now. I can’t help feel Fury’s had his best chance and can he do as well again. On the other hand though I can see him stopping Wilder somehow.
Word to the wise men; any of my London brethren know which pubs are showing this historic bout? West London ideally but obviously I’m going wherever the action is
Fury has been hit In the face during sparring, he had a bit of a black/puffy eye a week or so ago. Not long now, nigh on fight week! Hopefully rumours are just thst and we get both guys on top of their game. Bring it on.
That cut is a bit of a worry. Some people do heal quicker than others, but Fury isn’t super human, he’s fighting very soon after suffering them cuts. We all think of the main one but all 3 were significant. I think he’d have left it a few more months before fighting again in normal circumstances. If Wilder lands a clean shot on that eye it’s opening up. If I remember right, when Canelo fought GGG, he suffered an horrific fight ending cut but because the fight was in Vegas, his corner were allowed to use otherwise restricted (elsewhere in the world) coagulant. I’m guessing Fury will be able to employ the same thing in the rematch.
