As for not accepting to fight at Caneloweight, funny you still criticize GGG for that when that was an obvious choice, to hell with that catchweight ****ery. More fighters should adopt that stance and never succumb to deck stacking. As for Ward he sent an "offer" to Golovkin when Gennady was finalizing a deal with Lemieux to fight on PPV. AW probably couldn't even make 168 at that time, he came from a long lay-off because he was busy suing the dying Goossen. The truth is that Ward was jealous that GGG was getting hyped by HBO and not him, and he used that bull**** offer to tarnish Golovkin's name.

People are not giving the Macklin you on enough credit.

Macklin pushed Sergio & Sturm to the brink (especially the latter). Yet GGG demolished the very durable Macklin in a few rounds.

Macklin was top 8 at the time at MW and nobody was going near GGG.

16 months after the Khan fight.After the Khan fight and Canelo gave up his WBC belt, promoter Oscar's Delahoya came out with a public statement saying that Canelo will be ready to fight GGG in 16 months.
Oscar claim was that Canelo needed more time to grow into the weight.The problem with that theory was that as a jr middleweight Canelo would enter into the ring fight night at about 174 lbs, and as a middleweight GGG would come into the ring at about 170 -173 lbs max.Hbo would display fight day weights and many people recorded those fights and can see how long that was going on.It seemed like Canelo and his team were not yet ready for GGG. To this day Canelo does not want his fight night weight revealed because it can later be used against him.So alot of fans were angry with Canelo and Goldeboy because he wasn't being honest.Canelo had to truelly believe he had a good chance to win and Oscar was giving him as much time as he needed to build his confidence.
