Doesn't matter though as there are more than enough who will buy it.

The vast majority of people that buy fights on PPV are not hardcore fans. They don't want to bother finding a stream to watch a fight on their phone.

Paying to watch a fight every few months without the hassle suits them fine.

Yes there is a thick cohort of uneducated PPV mugths who get reeled in time and again for a good poking.

The type of people who believe Eh Day Earn when he said his dad has ginger hair.

Reality check. Eddie Hearn is not the only promoter putting on ppv's.

Again what makes someone silly for paying for a PPV?

This could apply to anything. Why buy a TV licence when you can't watch TV for free?

Why subscribe to netflix when you can stream for free?

Why subscribe to Spotify when you can find music for free?

The list goes on. Most people don't have the time or patience to go looking for stuff when the other option is to get it with a click of a button.

It all comes down to perceived Value. As long as people feel they are getting value for money the expense is irrelevant.

    1. People already pay a subscription for live sport including boxthing on Sky and BT and I would have no problem if the PPV charge was for NON subscribers.
    2. Most of the PPV fights are GASH including non contests, non title fights, IBO Titles, Exhibition Fights, You are a Tube Cartoon fights, Kell Brook v Funky Gavin fights and Heavyweight Lineal Pudding Bragging Rights - make an itemised list of PPVs and let me know how many provided value for money.

@channy and the huge army of non PPV fight viewers know that it is much quicker to view non PPV than PPV for any person with a basic grasp of technology.

I consider PPV to be a complete waste of money due to poor value for money for the reasons listed above and the uneducated PPV mugths really need to wake up.

In addition, I find it incredibly sad that we have people posting on here that they are listening to fights on the RADIO in this day and age - very sad indeed.

Understood but as I said one could argue paying for a sky subscription is silly when iptv is an option.

Personally I don't really care what people choose to do with their money.

It is all out there for everybody, all you have to do is go and get it.

It is a scandal the way people think that they have to cough up for everything when it is all in the public domain anyway, and free!

I like listening to bbc radio coverage of big fights. Mike Costello is a good commentator and ethically speaking, at least the boxers will be getting some recompense from their share of the radio rights. Whereas if I freeload on an illegal stream, I'm watching guys risking their health without supporting them or the wider sport.

Which is where I think your criticism of the PPV mugs breaks down. These are people who are putting money into the sport, the same money used to pay the guys who are putting it on the line?

I'm no angel, have watched those streams myself, but if everyone did that all the time, there'd be no fights and no sport?

The PPV recipients are already multi- millionaires mate who cannot get enough off wonga out of the PPV mugths.

If for example Dullian Shyte won't fight Paint Dry Parker or Toe Haye won't fight Bull Bellew without PPV, then the boxthing world will survive no problem. There were good fights before PPV and there will still be good fights without PPV.

PPV does nothing for boxthing at grass roots level and as I state, it is wrong to charge EXISTING Sly and BT Sports Subscribers twice for sport paid for already.

That is all well and good until they lose the fear of it is "Illegal".

Its a bit like how most people still pay for a TV license because the BBC say you have to have one, ive been license free for years and give nothing to anybody that tries to tell me what to do with my childrens hard earned inheritance to fund their lavish lifestyle!!

PPV numbers will eventually drop and drop year by year, that is why the price keeps increasing because they know this and extract more now before it really does start to dwindle.

Because i do not need one.

They occasionaly send their agents/officers both of which are neither to tempt me in to giving them some money, i just politely say "No Thanks" and they go away.

If i needed one i would buy one, but as i do not use or require the services of the BBC or any of there platforms i am legally license free, and they send you a very nice letter to confirm it!!

Gone are the days of people hiding behind curtains watching out for the fake TV detector van my friend!!

The BBC are very reluctant to take people to court as there is a huge risk now that the obsolete TV station will not be able to enforce an outdated law which would absolutely finish them.

The channel should be optional subscription and they know it.

Once people grow a pair they are done.
