You say PPV numbers will drop year by year and that’s why the price is increasing. But the numbers are going up year by year. The price is increasing because, to no particular surprise for anyone, that tends to be the case for most things. PPV numbers will drop for two reasons; convenience and popularity. If boxing goes down the tubes and becomes a sport with minority interest it’s inevitable that there will be some drop off. Secondly if it becomes more convenient to pick up a stream then the old school way of paying for a PPV will drop - a bit like it being more convenient to use Spotify than pay for physical records. But as Holler says, there will have to be some form of funding. Legal streaming is clearly popular - Netflix isn’t dead in the water for example. Ultimately despite the flapping on here most people aren’t wanting to trawl the Internet for a hopeful stream just to save twenty five quid.
They send you a letter? I need to do that as I dont use any service to watch programmes 'live' therefore I shouldn't need a TV licence.
I'm changing my brand to PRO-PPV Figure I don't pay for them anyway so may as well demand more of them to get some more #stacked cards
That's correct. Just go on their site put in your details, and simply tell them you no longer require or use their services and click cancel, if you have paid for it in full for the year, make sure to get the refund they owe you for the remainder. And that's it, done finnito, they will send you a letter confirming everything. Lose the fear fella!!
The days of having to search for streams like that is over. My lovely set up means I can easily switch to an American 'stream' or an Italian if I'm trying to shag the Mrs. I'd even pick the German sports channels over Adam ****ing Smith.
I was just under the impression that if you had any access to live tv you had to get a tv licence but looks like it's if you watch it live or BBC I player.
Correct. You do not need a TV licence if you don't watch live TV or use the iplayer. You do if you have sky etc as it is being shown live. If you use Netflix or any streaming service then you don't. Just be careful how you go about it because if you do don't let them catch you out. If they come knocking just politely say no thanks. They have no power of entry etc they are just corporate bullies there to scare you into giving them some money.
I get your point but to say it is no different isn't entirely accurate, you don't get anything else with your Man City v Liverpool ticket , your sky subscription doesn't all go towards boxing, unless you watch absolutely nothing else , in which case it would be in no way value to have sky sports. Far too many PPV's but they obviously make money so probably aren't going anywhere anytime soon unfortunately.
Ruiz Joshua II on its own generated somewhere in the region of £30m purely in terms of PPV sales in the UK. If anyone thinks promoters, fighters or networks are going to look at that sort of money and think 'nah, we'll not bother' then they're a genuine, grade-A idiot. Literally everything you consume could be cheaper. Moaning that you want everything cheaper is nothing more than wishful thinking.
Utter bollocks mate. Workmate of mine was just recently issued with a £1200 fine from the courts for not paying her licence fee for 3+ years and another lady who lives down the street from me just recently got done by the courts (not the first time) for not paying up. I'm not saying it's a dead cert you'll get caught if you don't pay up but it's a gamble and you're spreading dangerous nonsense by saying the BBC don't take people to court, well they do I'm afraid.
Its not bollocks mate, you cant get "caught" if you are doing nothing wrong... Dead simple. I take it the people you know were avoiding paying whilst still watching? There is a difference. Research it yourself mate, and look into the so called "Court" your friends were invited to...
