    Like him or hate him, he's nobody's fool. He won't make the same mistake Kovalev did.

    Then again, to be fair, he and Kovalev are in two totally different spots career wise. Kovalev was at the end of the rope and was criminally underpaid for most of his career, took a horrible deal for the Ward rematch, and needed a fat payday more than anything.

    Plant has more time and nowhere near the desperation.

    Dang, thats disappointing.

    As the physically larger guy, he has a chance at one of the biggest names in the sport, and one of the best p4p fighters he will likely ever get a chance to fight, in a fight that if he wins would change his life overnight.

    Sometimes you have to make concessions and take inconveniences to get transcending opportunities.

    Was hoping he'd take the fight.

    That being said Im not blaming him for not taking it either. This is chess not checkers and if he truly feels that would weaken him to that extent, part of me appluades him not selling out for the money.

    But still... I cant help but be a bit disappointed in his decision.

    ...

    And I think he means, if you control the media, you control the narrative.

    I love how guys cannot imagine the thought of fighting 3x per year anymore.

    You just had a fight where you took zero damage.....take two weeks (or 4) and have a 6-8 week camp...

    Anyways, we'll see him in December against another tomato can im sure.

    Can't believe he would pass this up...It's not like he's coming off the couch on a 2 year layoff or something. His call ....hope he doesn't regret it down the line if his career doesn't pan out the way he thinks its going to injuries etc
