It's not a mystery. Most Mexican fighters will proclaim that they are Mexican and willing to go to war.

It's an aggresive, macho style of boxing in laying it thick on the opponent and not giving any EFFS on what comes back.

Swarming the opponent with pressure to get them to fold.

Warrior style, toe to toe, Mano-a-mano, every shot you throw is maximum effort in a bid to outgun your opponent

It's very misconstrued on here. The image people portray when they talk about Mexican style is pressing forward, working the body from a crouch with a left hook. That's not Mexican Style. That's Julio Cesar Chavez style...

Most great Mexicans aren't swarmers. In fact, Chavez is the only one in my top 10 Mexicans who is a swarmer. The majority are boxer-punchers.

On the Warrior Scale it's at #2 behind Brit Level.

Go watch any domestic dust up between two Brit Level exponents, whether it's a small hall affair in front of a couple of hundred or a stadium one in front of 80,000, and you are virtually guaranteed an epic slug fest/war for the ages between two certified iron-jawed warriors with zero quit in them, which is why Brit Level fighters are almost as popular among Mexican fans as they are with British ones.

:lol:Ffs. As a fighting style, México is a misunderstood country.

What I'd call typically Mexican is what you said though. Look at Canto, flawless boxer, lots of movement, counters and jabbing but he drank a gallon of blood to win a fight. Left hooks to the body, bravery, pride and heart seems to be a staple of Mexican Style, but the actual fighting style most Mexicans use isn't swarming.

What it actually means: aggressive macho fighting style where the fighter stands in range and engages in toe to toe war to the head and body to make the other back up and wilt first.

What I wish it meant: The way Salma Hayek grinds away on top like there was no tomorrow
