Floyd clowns Canelo for getting caught using PEDs and says he would have beaten Tommy Hearns

Floyd doesn’t like to see anyone get the spotlight he once has. It’s Canelo's time to shine and I suspect Floyd doesn’t want to see a guy he once beat, dominating the boxing boxing press and box office as Canelo is doing these days. Getting older and retiring is hard for big stars. Floyd is human and it’s hard for retired stars to pass the torch to younger guys.

I am also a big Tommy Hitman Hearns fan and think he would have knocked Floyd out. That said, I would expect a confident boxer, especially one as talented as Floyd, to choose himself over any fighter. I’m sure Floyd feels he would have beaten Sugar Ray Leonard and Duran as well. You don’t get to be great by thinking other guys can beat you. Although I disagree with Floyd, I’d be disappointed if he said any of those great fighters from a previous era could beat him.

Would you want MICHAEL Jordan to say LeBron would have beaten him one on one or vice versa? Great athletes have monster egos and lots of confidence. How could they not? I never want my sports hero’s to back down or say someone is better. Walter Payton was as humble as can be but if you asked him if he was better than Jim Brown, Emmit Smith or Barry Sanders, what would you want him to say? If you asked me if Walter was better than those guys, I wouldn’t say yes...I’d say hell yes! Walter was my favorite of all time. Floyd is entitled to his opinion and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

 

Chavez is also guilty of this (not in a bad way like you mentioned) He's constantly saying x-fighter will never be at his level and things like that and that he would've beaten this fighter or that fighter. I mean, if your going to give Floyd a hard time for doing the same thing, you better include other top retired or not retired athletes as well...

 

Floyd is jealous of Canelo and Pacquiao. If I had a chance to talk to Floyd I would suggest him to fight Canelo again at 160.

 

I understand what you're saying, but given that Canelo is the 2020 cash cow, I wouldn't advise anyone without KO power to fight him.

If Floyd received 114-114 in his prime from CJ Ross, you know without a doubt he would be robbed against Canelo today.
