Just 3 KOs in his entire career, excluding wins by TKO or RTD

    2009-04-11 vs Mathew Ellis
    2011-02-19 vs Marcelo Nascimento
    2013-04-20 vs Steven Cunningham

Less KOs at heavyweight than fighters at super featherweight and there are people who really believe that he can stop Wilder

What else is there guys, you believe that earth is flat?

I don't know if I agree with excluding TKOs -- Fury was ****ing up Schwarz pretty brutally for instance. If you're trying to tell me that wouldn't have ended in a "real" KO pretty damn soon, well, I wouldn't believe you.

But I agree with your sentiment: I don't see Fury KOing Wilder.

Especially as Wilder appears to have a pretty decent chin.

Jesus Christ. How many times must this be explained?

    A) He is a boxer, and does not set down on his punches. When you get him going, like in the Cunningham fight, he shows power.

    B) A stoppage does not have to be a KO. He visibly rocked Wilder a couple of times last time out, and if he comes in ten pounds heavier and jumps in for the kill at the right moment, he can get a ref stoppage. He stopped Chisora and Hammer, who have two fairly dependable chins.

I don't think he is going to get the KO. I think it will be a wide decision and the judges will give him a narrow decision. But a stoppage is not out of the question, and anyone who thinks he has no power at all, or is "featherfisted," just doesn't know how boxing works.

    POST SCRIPT:
Seriously trying to explain this to you here. Did you know that Marciano, who was put down by Walcott and Moore, and fought Joe Louis, cited Ezzard Charles and the guy he most hated getting hit by? He said that everywhere Charles hit, it hurt. The point being, there are different kinds of power. Straight cold knockouts are not the only metric.

Well, Fury's namesake Mike Tyson who could punch a little bit only has 13 in 56 fights, 26 more fights than Fury has had

AJ only has 4 in 24 fights

And Gassiev only has 4 in 27 fights

I don't think you understand why TKO's exist.
    I'll help you.
TKO's exist so that fighters are not KO'd cold, it's a form of mercy stoppage when fighters can no longer defend themselves. In most of these cases, the beaten fighter would end up in a heap if the fight continued. For instance, they make the count but are not fit to continue. Another onslaught and they don't get up.
Lower level, non-championship level fights are also stopped earlier.
Finally, Fury was moved relatively quickly, didn't fight as many 'cans' as the likes of Wilder and many Americans. He fought for the English title on his 8th pro fight.
He may look old, but he only fought Wlad at around 26 years of age.

If Fury had been like many of these HWs now and just fought basically circus fights and journeymen into his 30s (guys like Kownacki, Miller are around the same age as Fury), he'd probably have a very high stoppage rate.

Yes, it took him 7 rounds to stop a cruiserweight who dropped him in the second, only to do it by pushing the smaller man with both his hands towards the ropes then shoving his hand in Cunningham's face so he couldn't see the punch with which he was KOed. Amazing show of power.

There is a stoppage and there is a British stoppage. Watch Fury's wins by TKO.

Both Chisora and Hammer wins were by RTD, Chisora stopped in his corner by Frank Warren with 2 or 3 rounds to go as he couldn't land on Fury all night and was looking embarrassing but he wasn't seriously hurt at any point during the fight, nor was he knocked down. He was still going forward towards Fury. Chisora would have easly survived last few rounds.

Hammer also stopped in his corner by his team as he was the smaller man and couldn't land anything on Fury. Recently he went the distance with Luis Ortiz who is a much bigger puncher than Fury so he would have went the distance with Fury too.

Wilder was in the same ring with the man for 12 rounds, felt his power and is saying that he has 2 featherfisted pillows which is a fact. Fury isn't KOing anybody or winning a decision, he is getting KTFO cold on Saturday.

Has any boxer come out and say Tyson Fury is the guy he most hated getting hit by? There are fighters who don't score straight cold knockouts and win by TKO but visibly hurt their opponents, who can't get up , while most if not all of Fury's TKO wins his opponents got up and a lot protested the decision that the fight be stopped, and most of these guys were not fully prepared bums and journeymen. So this is good enough metric to show what kind of power Tyson Fury has.

Joshua's win against Whyte is recorded as TKO lol. Whyte was KTFO cold, taking a good nap on that lower rope. Does Fury have such a TKO win? No. Joshua's win vs Zumbano Love also a TKO when he couldn't get up, then he barely managed to do it while falling over and only the ropes saved him from falling over again.

I don't think its fair on Mike to include the second half of his career, the man was shot to bits. In 39 fights Tyson had 11 straight KOs and TKO wins in fashion. Nothing like Fury's TKO victories.

I understand what you're saying but a stoppage is a stoppage.

Also, the referee has a huge part to play in that stat, if a referee let a lot of these fight go on until there was a KO, and there would have been at some point, then we might have had some serious injuries and maybe even fatalities.

Almish, how do you know Ortiz is the bigger puncher?

Fury's best KO was Cunningham, that was the only time Cunningham was ever stopped. Cunningham was near prime ans ranked roughly #26 at the time.

Ortiz best KO win based on rankings was a 45 year old Tony Thompson in his retirement fight who had been stopped twice before, ranked approx #17.
Ortiz other straight KOs are against relative nobodies...

So how do you know Ortiz is a heavy hitter?

Once we start picking at records and making exceptions to suite our narrative it all becomes a bit silly.

    OMG YOU PEOPLE ARE HYPOCRITES!!

Now you wanna make the distinction between TKO and KO yeah?????? FUNNY when Whyte KOd Chisora CLEAN you wanna bring up Haye as another that did it!

Even when the professionals classed Haye's stoppage as a TKO not KO.

    No WHYTE WASN'T out cold.

He was hanging on the lower rope looking to the referee... he was TKOd

KOd would mean he was out and unable to move or interact. Go see BROWNE and CHISORA when Whyte KOd them... they were not awake or concious for a long time.

    Nice try loser

You need 5 stars on Amazon for the worlds best excuse maker EVER

Fury doesnt sit down on his punches? GTFO

He called upon all his gypsie ancestors to muster up all the strength his body can provide to KO Wallin and Wallin wasnt phased at all.

You could EASILY see Fury was trying to KO him using angles... leverage.. EVERYTHING

Whyte does it easily... it can be done... Fury just cant do it.

Besides Wallin aint known to be granite chinned like Chisora.

The thing is that Fury's TKO victories were a joke and British stoppages with his opponents not visibly hurt.

Fury vs Zeller - After a barrage of punches Fury couldn't drop Zeller, then Zeller starts throwing back and fight is stopped by the ref with Zeller shouting "No, No" to him.

Fury vs Belshaw - Fury hurts Belshaw with one punch body punch, he doesn't go down and ref immediately waves it off.

Fury vs Selezens - Fury with a barrage of punches couldn't drop the journeyman, then pushes him with both hands and Selezens falls, then gets back up and his corner throw the towel.

Fury vs Blasko - Blasko beats the count, doesn't look hurt but the guy spits his gum shield out and doesn't want to continue, as he is a journeyman that went to collect his check.

Fury vs Firtha - Firtha takes some punches but doesn't look hurt and is even throwing back himself, then in the middle of nowhere the ref waves it off with the astonishment on the face of Firtha saying it all.

Fury vs Pajkic - Ref stops the fight with Pajkic standing on his legs, Pajkic pushing the ref off him to protest the joke British stoppage.

Fury vs Rogan - Rogan beats the count, then his corner enter the ring and stop the fight, Rogan pushing them away in disagreement.

Fury vs Maddalone - After a barrage of punches Maddalone still standing and not looking to go down, ref stops the fight.

Fury vs Abell - Abell takes a knee in the corner, then in a few seconds comfortably gets up saying that he is ok with the ref waving it off and Abell seemingly asking why

Now don't forget all these guys were unprepared journeyman.

The guy couldn't stop guys like Mrazek (4-22) and Page (21-32) and we are supposed to believe that he could have had higher stoppage rate when he couldn't drop the numerous journeymen that he fought.

Matt Skelton also fought for the English title in his 8th pro fight. Fury still fought enough journeyman in his career and there is no running from the fact that the guy is featherfisted.

Wilder started boxing very late that's why he fought more journeymen in the beginning of his career but none of this who he fought before will matter on Saturday when Wilder is WBC/Ring/Lineal Heavyweight champion of the world.
