Beautiful left hook deposits Vásquez on the mat. Vasquez hops back up, take the 8 count and takes full advantage of Gonzalez's recklessness when finishing. Vásquez landing a short right counter, square on Jhonny's jaw; back to boxing. Vásquez closing the gap here, then Gonzalez hits him with an awesome combo to the body then back to boxing. Landing heavy jabs on Izzy's iron mandible, as well as a picturesque counter cross when Vásquez leaped in. Exchanges in body hooks, sharper from Jhonny. Slower final minute, Vásquez landing some nice counter jabs and bobbing and weaving fairly steadily.

Round 5
Gonzalez still as sharp as the first, picking Izzy apart with his left hand. Peppering Vásquez with long jabs, heavy hooks and offsetting Vásquez on the way in with a stiff arm, like a wind-screen wiper sweeping water to the side. Vásquez not pulling much together, eating a hard cross to the mid-section. Gonzalez standing in the pocket, throwing harder more now. For the final minute Gonzalez teed off at will, coming in with 1-2s, left hooks and uppercuts and slipping all return fire. The final 10 seconds highlighted this when Jhonny threw 6/7 sharp shots that all landing flush.

Awwww, look at Vásquez tip toeing and rolling he's shoulder like he's got some Half-Mexican Slickness... Bless him

Round 6

Gonzalez simply boxing cutely again, Vásquez getting ambitious. Izzy leaps in, desperately trying to close the gap and gets stung for his troubles, Jhonny has him right where he wants him. Gonzalez taking more jabs than he'd like though. Slow second minute, not much action aside from Jhonny's jab dominating. Gonzalez starting mixing it up with some harder 1-2s, Vásquez replying with a lovely overhand, catching Jhonny clean. They seemed to exchange in turns here, it's like they agreed to throw a single 1-2 at a time. Jhonny bucked this trend with a booming lead left hook that left Vásquez a resident on the canvas. The count to 8 starts and Vásquez is up at 3, as the ref signals them to carry on, the bell sounds.

Gonzalez 10-8, clear.

 

Mannnnnn that left hook was AWESOME.

 

Round 7

Vásquez fighting Mexican Style, boaring in and throwing to the body. Gonzalez knuckling down and trading more here. Gonzalez's movement really giving Vásquez issues for a moment. Vásquez pressing on, throwing lots. Gonzalez's tendancy to stand and trade hurts him in this one, Vásquez's and Gonzalez is down!!! Vásquez pouncing on his man, only to be to be tied up consistently. Referee has his job cut out for him, right now; Gonzalez running and cuddling here, limited offence. He's hurt, bad. Another short, right hand lands hard on Gonzalez's face. The final 10 seconds spent with Jhonny on the run and Izzy stalking.

Round 8
Gonzalez back to boxing fairly, that minute was a God send. Jhonny holding when Vásquez gets close, flurrying to keep the referee at bay. Vásquez clips him with couple of short shots, and Gonzalez is down again, but seemingly unhurt. Gonzalez back to boxing; Vasquez letting him go like a fisherman would with a lowly Cod or Plaice. Not much landed here aside from the odd jab, and the memorable straight from Gonzalez. Vásquez marching on, landing a hard combo that showed how exhausted Gonzalez was. He kept coming forward this time taking a solid left hook below the ribs for his efforts.

Round 9
Gonzalez still carrying on with his boxing, looking decent still. Vásquez pressing on, landing some hard shots. Gonzalez himself throwing hard, missing an uppercut and spinning off balance, staggering off. Vásquez running at him, not having much success, unfortunately. Nice job of bobbing and weaving from Izzy here. Blistering right pierced through Gonzalez's guard. Gonzalez being picked apart here from Vásquez. Aside from a nice straight from Jhonny...

Round 10
Gonzalez still desperately trying to move around, but he's overreaching on his shots and overreacting to Vásquez, who was landing hard,. Gonzalez going down and then the ref waves it.
