True enough, but the entertainment point stands. When people talk about fights of the year and the like you don’t get too many Floyd highlights. I think Mayweather exploited the rich, extremely cocky and ultra-extremely boastful character and ran with it all the way to the bank. I wonder just how many people paying to see him fight were actually paying to hopefully see him lose.
In Floyd's case, the man was a genius. Although many wanted to see him loose, the actual intrigue was whether his code could be cracked, he managed to neutralise some of the most aggressive fighters of his generation while putting his legacy of GOAT and unbeaten record on the line. The further he went unbeaten the higher the stakes became and people were not only watching to see him loose they were watching history being made.
I remember Ricky Hatton had a similar gnarly looking mess on his bottom lip against Floyd Mayweather...
I try not to read into these pressers much but Wilder appears extremely confident and Fury less so. Wilder has to be a daunting prospect for anyone. That power is freakish and scary. I'll be on edge from round 1. In saying that, Fury looks in phenomenal shape. Just watched a final preparations clip and his body looks firmer than it has since before he blew up in weight so the nutrition and s snd c looks like it's went very well.
