Ruiz has signed to fight Ortiz instead of Whyte

Chrisora has lost to all the top fighters he's fought. He's not even top 10 HW. He's a stepping stool at best. So i'm not sure why you keep bringing up his name as if he's elite or top 5 at least.

 

Im not so sure why my bringing up of Chisora implies he is top 5 ... or why you inferred he is elite?

Ruiz will expose the myth that is Luis ortiz.

A man who in his prime may have been a good fighter but is way past his best and not a top 10 contender.

Wilder tried to use ortiz and claim he was a top 3/4 hw.

The reality is he has never been anybody in the division.

Ruiz, if he comes in decent shape will walk through him and make short work of it.

 

Ortiz also turned down Whyte to fight Malik Scott and Dave Allen. No way Ortiz beats Parker and on a poll on this forum the majority thought Rivas would beat Ortiz.

Why would Whyte choose to fight Ortiz to fight Povetkin? Povetkin is an Olympic gold medlaist, former world champion and has the superior reume of the two.

I dont always agree with Hatman but there no one that logically deabte against Povetkin being the far more proven fighter.

To be honest I think Joe Joyce and his sloppy molasses fists exposes Ortiz at this stage. When you're struggling to beat Christian Hammer and that's your best win in five years you're probably not best equipped to hang at the top level.

 

I'll be honest for quite a long time I bought into the narrative that Ortiz was being avoided by a lot of the top guys. But the more I look into his career the more I see that he was simply never that good to begin with barring a very narrow window that's long passed. And aside from his attempts to challenge Wilder he has showed zero ambition in his career and openly ducked a number of opportunities to fight top opponents like Joshua.

At the time the WBC ordered Whyte vs Ortiz it was just one more in a neverending series of hoops for Whyte to jump through in his Kafka-esque quest to fight Wilder, and I think Whyte was just getting sick of it at that stage. Since then Whyte's proven he has no fears of taking on the very best opponents he can while Ortiz has fought his usual run of garbage men and fringe guys.

It's becoming very easy to see through the smoke now.

 

On my end? lol. No I believe the confusion was on your end. U chimed in and brought Chrisora name up when I was speaking on Ortiz vs Whyte punching power.

 

Are you an idiot? Since then Ortiz fought Wilder and Whyte fought Rivas (roids) and Wach. The Chisora rematch was due to Whyte/Hearn ducking Ortiz for the mandatory position.

 

So your basing your pick off of other people assuming he beat Ortiz? I think opposite. I think Ortiz KO's Rivas too. Ortiz never turned down Whyte. It was Whyte who turned down Ortiz. Only fight Ortiz ever turned down was AJ because it was late notice and not enough time to properly train. Yes Povetkin has a better resume, but Whyte used the excuse to fight Ortiz saying he was too old, but now he's fighting Povetkin who is the same age. It's clear he didn't want to fight Ortiz!

 

Povetkin never performed as well as Ortiz in a title fight or against a top 5 contender.

Whyte and Hearn have said mutiple times they made offers to Ortiz when Ortiz was with Matchroom which were turned down. Of course Whyte chose vs Chisora over Ortiz as Chisora is a bigger name and more profitable fight.

Ortiz was given what? Just 1 week less notice than Wilder gave him for their 1st fight. Especially considering Ortiz claims he is always in the gym and ready fir fight even publically asked for the AJ fight. Yet proved he can talk the talk but not walk the walk as whne the offer came in he turned it.

 

Whyte offered a main card event... Ortiz and his MASTERS wanted it to be on a PBC ting... UNDERCARD event of Wilders show.

Whyte always makes offers.... he backs them up too... because the money and the venue and the main card is ppv is always there for his opponents.

Povetkin lost to 2 number 1s in the divison. Ortiz lost to the number 2 in the divison twice.
