I agree with everything you`ve said but Serena is nowhere near the level of an elite male tennis player despite how great she is.

Floyd is 10x the fighter AJ is P4P, Fury is better than AJ and so is Usyk, Loma is the most skilled fighter in boxing today.

Yes he does but him being said as being a better athlete than guys like Lebron James is laughable. Damn near 6 people on each NBA team are more athletic than Roger.

If that is how you are determining the winner, who can run, jump or throw the furthest one v one then no-one else would ever win the award except heavy weights or basketball players. If that's your criteria you would end up putting any average middle of the road basketball player above Roger Federer in your list, since he can run faster and jump higher, LOL. That's patently absurd. Tennis, a one v one sport, is far more physically and mentally demanding on the individual then team sports like basketball where your team mates can bail you out, or the coach can sub you off if you have a bad day. Your criteria also completely neglects the mental side of the game, sport isn't just about physical attributes.

Exactly which is why I said those basketball players you laughed at could do feats of athleticism Roger could only dream of. Have you ever seen a NFL player train or an NBA player? If you haven't, you haven't seen sick level athleticism until then. The cone drills and ladder drills alone are awe inspiring.

Not all of them. Some of the guards who are usually 6'4 and under would be perfect for tennis. Elite level athleticism and quickness with great hand eye coordination.

And Roger Federer can do things with a tennis racket that those basketball and nfl players could only dream of, whats your point?

Lets just go with most of them then, will that do? Lets take a look at the actual list we are talking about shall we: https://eu.usatoday.com/story/sport...op-50-athletes-over-last-10-years/4399929002/

There are athletes from many different sports on there, not just basketball, nfl, heavyweight boxing. So, clearly they are not using the same criteria you are using, clearly it is not just about who can run the fastest, jump the highest or throw the furthest one v one. 5' 7'' Lionel Messi is 8th on the list. Now obviously, Messi cannot run as fast, jump as high or throw as far as an nba basketball player. But on the other hand Lebron would look like a bumbling buffoon with a football at his feet compared to Messi, and that would remain true even if Lebron had spent his entire life playing football. He's too big to ever possess the ball control that Messi possesses.

I'll post USA today's explanation for Lebron being 1 here:

    ''1. LeBron James (786 points)

The start of the decade coincided with James entering his prime, having just turned 25. He delivered, playing in eight NBA Finals and winning three titles, being voted MVP twice and winning a gold medal in 2012. Plus nobody has scored more points since the start of the 2009-10 season than James. But it's his impact off the court that elevates James beyond other athletes of the 2010s, adding to his philanthropic efforts and becoming a leading voice on social and political issues.''

Yeah sure, that's why USA Today gave him the edge, because he talks about social issues and politics. I am sure it had nothing to do with him being american and their american readership being biased in that direction :risas3: If only Messi talked more about politics and social issues he could of been 1:duh I am sure Serena being number 2 and Roger being all the way down in 16th had nothing to do with nationality either...

CR7 is the biggest sport star in the world Only Messi comes close you can put every american athlete combined and still they get nowhere near these two. They are the two best of the decade and its not even close.

You know, if youre honest Floyd was actually beaten a few times but his beloved 0 was saved by the Vegas corruption. Castillo beat him. Maidana beat him up, He should have been DQ'd twice too against Ortiz & Judah.
Any other fighter would have been. May/Pac was a disaster due to IV gate & should have been made a N/C at least.
Floyd was blessed with incredible boxing skills but cursed with the cojones of a gnat. Sadly Canelo is following the same path neither has been allowed to lose fights they should have lost

The term athlete is just to refer to someone who practices a sport. It's not about who's the most athletic person.
