They are all in the same boat.

    Wilder, fury and Joshua.

They all have something to prove in my opinion.

Fury beat klitschko but hasn't the strongest record.

Wilder is dominant, but he's fought nobody

The most credible champ is AJ. Sure he has a loss but I'm convinced if fury and wilder had been in with whyte, povetkin, Parker, ruiz, takam they would have also tasted defeat and wilder would have lost more than once that's for sure.

    Joshua is number 1.

This fight is between 2 and 3 imo

I don't think the list of fighters who want to fight Wilder is as long as you think it is. Truth is, it's a very dangerous night's work and these guys want to be heavily compensated for stepping up. I don't think the likes of Whyte and Parker are afraid of taking the fight but the money they're likely looking for probably isn't available because Wilder's only a big draw against the likes of Fury and Joshua. Maybe that will change if he defeats Fury, then with a higher profile the others can get paid the big money they need to risk it.

There is no number 1 currently.

    not even after this weekend.

No.1 will be decided between joshua and the winner this weekend.

if they dare to face joshua 60/40

AJ’s best wins are two past prime 40 year olds and then a loss against fat midget . He’s number 3 HW.

The winner between the #1 rated unbeaten Tyson Fury and the #2 rated unbeated Deontay Wilder on Saturday will be the WORLD heavyweight champion and will be preseted with the RING championship belt at an awards ceremony.

Just like Dempsey, Tunney, Schmeling, Louis, Marciano, Ali, Foreman, Frazier ... every WORLD champion in boxing history has ... the winner will be presented with that honor and will go down in history alongside of them.

Anthony Joshua has never fought for the RING belt. He's never won it. He's never been the WORLD heavyweight champion. He's eight months removed from getting dropped four times, spitting out his mouthpiece and quitting against a late sub.

Joshua doesn't have squat to do with what's happened Saturday night.

The winner Saturday will be the World Heavyweight Champion.

The loser won't be. Just like Joshua won't be.

For any fighter to become the WORLD heavyweight champion after Saturday, he'll have to beat the winner of Saturday's fight.

Because the winner of Saturday's fight is THE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION.

Great thread. I find myself agreeing with contrasting views. Each has a good point.

If only someone could emerge with all four belts.

... then fight Manual Charr ... the forgotten heavyweight champion.

And that's still better than both Wilder and Fury's...

Also, everyone with a brain knows Parker and Wlad are Joshua's best wins, since when was Parker a 40 year old, past prime guy in that fight?

So the "WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION" will have a quarter of the heavyweight championship? Ok then...

I don’t rate parker any higher than past prime povetkin and Fury also has a W over old Wlad and Win / Draw against wilder , so no edge for AJ here.
I had joshua as # 1 HW before he got stopped by the piece of lard. Imo AJ needs a few more decent wins to reestablish himself .

The winner Saturday will be the WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION.

Deciding to pay sanctioning fees has no bearing on who the WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION is.

The winner Saturday could dump the WBC belt afterward and still be THE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION.

Larry Holmes had NO belts when he defended his WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP against Marvis Frazier.

Boxing isn't NASCAR or Tennis, where you accumulate points during the year and the one with the most points at the end of the season is the BEST.

In boxing, you become champ by Beating the CHAMP. And if there's no champ, the top two fight to determine who the new champ is.

That's the way it has been forever.

That didn't change when Anthony Joshua turned pro. No matter how hard the ass-kissers stomp their feet and throw tantrums.

    Sorry.

Whether you view Fury as the current WORLD or the former champ, the top two heavyweights are fighting Saturday and the winner will be presented with the RING belt naming him the WORLD CHAMPION.

    You're witnessing history.

    It's a big weekend.

You don't give a rats rectal about boxing history , i do , which is why i value the concept of an Undisputed Champion.

You have totally dismissed the undisputed title simply because your guy Wilders is not involved. There is nothing more to it than that. :flaming:

But they aren’t really the same thing on paper...they have different criteria, different implications, etc. What the OP has stated is fact, being The World Champion and being the Undisputed Champion are two different things.
