People really believe old Foreman was better than 70's Foreman? Was Ron Lyle that much better than Ruddock? They're about the same level, actually. It's just Lyle fought bigger names like Ali, Quarry, Shavers, Foreman and Young. Ruddock was bigger than all those guys. And yes, both Bowe and Holyfield avoided Ruddock and it wasn't until Lennox stepped up to face him.

Ruddock fought dumb and relied on the Smash. Doesn't mean he sucked. The dude was the 2nd most dangerous fighter after Tyson for a reason. I don't think Old Comeback Foreman beats Ruddock at all. Ever. Ruddock was consistently ranked #2 for a while until his aforementioned fight with Lewis.

No one ducked Ruddock because he was a joke and he could not knock China chinned Morrison!Ruddock was never in top 10 fighters!
    1. Evander Holyfield
    2. Riddick Bowe
    3. Lennox Lewis
    4. Michael Moorer
    5. Michael Bentt
    6. Oliver McCall
    7. Ray Mercer
    8. Phil Jackson
    9. Tommy Morrison
    10. Mike Hunter
And about Ruddock...he was knocked by almost everyone!Morrison,Tillis,Lewis..
Ruddock is the most overrated guy in history. He built his name with 2 loses with tyson. He got destroyed by any prime puncher that he fought like morrison and lewis( i know i know the excuse will be that he was in his peak in 1991 and then he was shot in 1992. Laughable).
Until 1984 he weighed under 200 pounds even in the 180s . he not just lost to a bum like david jaco but he could not stop him in 8 rounds .
He won a ****PY SD AGAINST A 35 YEARS OLD WEAVER.
All he did was beating A SHOT MICHAEL DOKES( IN HIS PRIME WAS NOT A GREAT THING).
And Beating a fat 36 years old James smith Who was very very close to knock
Him the **** out. A prime smith destroys him no question about it.
Ruddock was nothing special. He is built up by Tyson fans to make it seem like Tyson beat somebody good in his prime. That being said he fought all heavyweights and I mean true heavyweights
He could not even KO china chinned Morrison but Tyson fans live in delusion that he would knock Iron chinned Foreman!
Rudccok as I said was knocked by light pucnhing 40 years old Tillis, and he could not beat Morrison!
    Imagine Foreman catching Ruddock!
It would be just like Foreman Cooney fight!

How do you see Ruddock beating Foreman? How does the fight look? Is gonna stand and just outslug him? Is he gonna magically grow a brain and box intelligently?
It's a hard sell. It's not about liking one fighter more. There's factors that favor Foreman. He used both hands, had an excellent jab even when he beat Briggs. George had better balance, set up his power better especially when you traded with him. A smarter, more experienced boxer.

Ruddock had more quickness. That would be a good advantage to have if we were talking about someone who would use it smartly. Razor was a smart guy outside the ring but inside he wasn't.

Tell that to someone like, uh...Alex Stewart. Explain that away ETM. How did Alex Stewart look so good against Foreman? Is Stewart better than Ruddock? **** no! Ruddock gets rid of Stewart within 5 rounds. Old Foreman knew his limitations, that's why he was able to last long into his comeback. He stepped up his comp and realized he just couldn't beat the best. Not just the best, he couldn't beat the 2nd tier fighters either.

Old Foreman was a good fighter with power. That's it. Hell no he faces Ruddock unless Ruddock had a belt. And even then Ruddock's youth would serve him well here. Foreman would connect but also get hit with power shots at will.

If Holyfield had more power Foreman would've retired immediately after. Instead he hung around and got to Moorer first because of his name factor.

To be fair to George, he did think he had Stewart out and went all out to ko him early. Unfortunately he did something a younger BG wouldn't have been as likely to do: he misjudged how hurt he was. The rest of the fight was Foreman seemingly unable to get a second wind.

Foreman had a much better jab than Ruddock and would score swell with it however he would have no defense for the smash and may have been stopped unless he landed the big one first, Foreman was better at setting up shots with his jab than Razor so I give him the edge.

It's not as if 70s George ever gassed out.

Sandra still has to learn the concept of styles make fights, bringing up Stewart as evidence Ruddock would beat Foreman is comical.

Lets play Sandra's game, Foreman battered Dave Jaco in to submission and almost killed him (his own words) whilst on his comeback trail and Jaco wiped the floor with Ruddock, that means Foreman destroys Ruddock in less than a round.

Thanks Sandra, I've never come around to your way of thinking before......

Ruddock was shot???Laughable!!!He was shot after one year fighting??Excuses of Tyson fans are stupid as horse ass!Tommy had AIDS so what and he was chin chinned!
When somebody beats Tyson opponents easier than him you pull excuses he was shot!Well Holmes was shot also and Tillis was too!David Jaco old ass beat Ruddock before Tyson! And Morrison beat Ruddock only one year after Tyson! He was heavily affected by AIDs but you pull excuses because he beat Ruddock easier!Frazier had wars in 15 rounds but he was in great shape but Ruddock was out of shape after two fights???Man!Holyfield beat shot Douglas,Morrison beat shot Rudock,Tucker,Tillis,Thomas...
Better say Tyson is overatted and cpuld not finiah his opponents fast as Tommy who was affected with Aids and green Lewis!

I don't buy the Ruddock was shot straight after Tyson story one bit. The first fight was stopped prematurely in the eyes of most and he wasn't stopped in the rematch. Ruddock was a big strong awkward guy but he just didn't turn out as good as many thought he might. He was quite limited and predictable and relied mightily on that left hand.

Ruddock was right up there with the top contenders of the day, perhaps with Tyson THE top contender of the day. It was just kind of shocking to see Lewis blow him out so quick. I think that's what makes people wonder if he was shot after Mike.

All this said, the Ruddock who fought Mike...I've seen people compare him to Lyle, but the reality is Lyle was probably a better fighter. I doubt Ruddock would have done what Lyle did to either prime Foreman or Shavers....or even mid-70s Ali. But that's just my opinion.

First version Lewis was flawed but man could he still punch. He has more handspeed at this point when he was lighter. That right hand was one of the fastest and most direct I've ever seen from him. Ruddock never recovered from it despite the bell saving him immediately thereafter. He came at Lewis in the second when he really needed to be gun shy for a bit.

I'm not sure how but some people still somehow underrate Lewis's power. His right hand was immense.

Lyle is a better fighter than Ruddock. Ruddock may however have blown Shavers out it may well have depended on who got in first. Shavers was plenty beatable. Mouth watering matchup.

Lewis tended to rely on his right a bit too much pre-Steward, but that same right was even more powerful (and faster) than the formidable weapon that was Ruddock's smash. I don't put it quite as Shavers' or Deontay's level, but easily as powerful as Tyson's.

And yes, Ruddock-Shavers would have been a matchup and a half! I just don't see Ruddock having the necessary defense/cautiousness to avoid the right. Sooner or later, Earnie lands flush...and Ruddock wouldn't get up imo.
