Glad to see that the people in this section respect Fury and his accomplishments. He'll be a top 10 ATG heavyweight before it's all said and done.

With the right fights there a fair chance of that. He ended Wlad's reign as well and came back from a lot.

Fury was great, but he was not even 20 lbs. heavier than their first fight-& some certainly not all of that was muscle.
Maybe it was close to 10 lbs. max.
Still he was stronger & his strategiy superbly executed.
Focusing more on aggression & counters with the smothering.

    Glad to eat humble pie.

I still do not know if Fury is that good, or Wilder really is as bad as I thought he was a few years back. I guess it is somewhere in the middle.

But to be fair Wilder took his beating as is traditionally expected in boxing without quitting. But the ref and the corner perhaps could have saved him a bit earlier.

Fury amazes me. I remember the first fight with domestic level journeyman John McDermott, he was lucky to win a fight against a fighter who struggled to win an English title. From that moment on I have always been skeptical, criticising his determination and his conditioning, which at times even he has to still admit was appalling.

But the fight I talk of was a decade ago and for the third time* in four years, he has beaten who I thought was the best fighter in the division. So Fury for what is worth, has won me over. But as usual I was very late to the party!

*Although not the worse robbery, I suspect most people think Fury deserved the decision in Fury/WilderI.

I think it was Fury was good, and had a plan that worked very well.

Fury remains an enigma to me. I'd neither have predicted his approach to the fight nor bet on the manner of victory, tonight - but, he comes out and does a number on an alleged Behemoth.

I rather like surprises (when there's no money down). ;)

There really has never being anything like Tyson Fury in the division, and I say that shaking my head. He's starting to make Muhammad Ali look bland lol.

I think I understand Fury. He has two personalities. Like top comedian might.

He battles mental demons and personal troubles. Fury is a showman. The great comedians, the best ones seem to have lots of problems. Then they let it all out the night they perform. But in the end most of them will be self destructive.

Fury should be active. I don’t think he’ll age well. His star is shinning brightly now. Impressive but to those who strongly suspect Wilder was a well managed belt milker, you wonder how this didn’t happen earlier. Great management I think is the reason.

I guess Wilder’s opponents either weren’t good enough or didn’t believe. Fury was both.

Bummed out that Fury won, but I have to give him absolute credit. He was the better man. But he's a real weirdo in my book, and I have a hard time liking his personality.

At this point he's the best heavy in the world. Sigh. What happened, Deontay?

I thought Fury would win, but not in this manner. Fantastic performance.

I don't feel Wilder has been exposed. His shortcomings have been there to see all along, it's just that he has a punch that makes it impossible to ever rule him out. I wouldn't be chocked if he lands it in the rubber and wins. It's unlikely, but I wouldn't rule it out.

Ever since he first went off the rails I've always feared Fury would do it again, but it seems he has found some balance. Let's hope so, because it would be so tragic if he fizzles out and squanders his obviously huge potential. At the very least I want to see a fully fit and focussed Fury against AJ. I think that would be a brilliant fight.

As long as he avoided the bomb there was never any doubt who would win the fight.
Basically both physically and mentally one man knows how to fight and one doesn’t.
    A man against a boy.

Fury stepping in behind the jab was like something you see from Bowe or Sonny Liston. It was a big reason why Wilder couldn't fire anything back. Fury made the ring very small for Wilder with the jab and pressure. Amazing how Fury was able to keep that constant pace without tiring or making any mistakes. I don't think Wilder was ever in the fight from he moment the bell rang and Fury ran out of his corner!!

Agreed - it's not as though people haven't been pointing out Wilder's flaws for some time now. It's just that Fury is better by some margin; has demonstrated this twice now and, on this second occasion, made sure the judges couldn't mistake his superiority for a Wilder Win (or Draw).

But Wilder remains capable of delivering KO's, if he can connect; only that it's now twice that Fury has prevented Wilder from doing so.

Yeah, Fury will be a massive favourite if there's a rubber. Wilder does have that punch, but his confidence must also be badly dented. He was beaten, outclassed really, at his own game and he has no other game. The only thing that stands between him and another bad beatdown (and even a brave guy like Wilder can't fancy the thought of another one like that) is that hail Mary. That should weigh on anyone.

AJ and Fury now is the fight for me in the HW division. It would be an absolute tragedy if that doesn't happen. Even after last night I have AJ as a slight favourite in that one.
