    That spring action cannonball right could've leveled a goddamn lamppost. :scared1

    Mind you this is roughly the same version of Mosley that had recently decimated Margarito. Past his prime, but still incredibly dangerous.

    Defensive wizardry was his first line of defense, obviously - but Floyd's resiliency (both his physical ability to absorb a shot and, more importantly, his mental discipline to stay focused and not waver when hurt) is overlooked & underrated. I see people picking all these past welter greats to KO him in fantasy match-ups, and I just shake my head and laugh. Yeah, there are plenty of ATGs he could lose to...but that would knock him out? That's a big ask.

    Dead silence from the haters (and I see a few of them lurking about, while this racks up views). Interesting. :D

    @Somali Sanil you legitimately think that ONE QUARTER of all professional 147lb boxers stay upright from that punch? o_O Or are you just being contrarian?

    If they survived that shot, the rest would have koed from the onslaught. Say what you want about Floyd, the man is a boxer's boxer.

    The only other modern great you can compare him to really is James Toney. Both had, on offense, insane accuracy and efficiency - and then in addition to Matrix-like slickness, both have ATG chins to fall back on. Almost unfair how perfectly engineered to box they both were; if they were in a video game they'd be the final bosses that had everyone smashing their remotes and/or scrambling to find cheat codes. :lol:

    Also, props to Azucar for being such a monstrosity even so far removed from his peak. Can you imagine, were Mayweather's chin & recuperative powers just a bit less than what they were, just enough for him to be put down for a ten count by that right hand - if that last chapter of Mosley's career had consisted of stopping Margarito and then coming back a year later and stopping Mayweather? And then retiring on that note??

    Night and day from how he in fact did bow out, with the ghastly draw against Mora; three not-very-competitive decision losses to Avanesyan, Pac, and Canelo; the humiliating debacle with Mundine; two stoppage victories nobody cared about in Mayorga II and Patrick López; and then a gift over Cano. :ohno

    Six years of just depreciating his legacy more and more with each ill-advised fight taken. What a sad little spiral that was.

    Um, yeah.

    Show me where you said that same length of time wasn't recent when Mayweather subsequently fought Ortiz, coming off exactly as long a layoff from the Mosley fight as Mosley had been since Margarito? Else hush. ;

    For starters he landed the same shot on Margarito like what 30, 40, 50 times and he was barely groggy and retained all his faculties even up until the stoppage.

    Granted Tony's chin was at least a 9.5/10, but you get the point.

    That was a peach of a punch, incredible how Mayweather still stood up and not get dropped. I think a couple would be able to take his shot. Guys like SRR, SRL, Kid Gavilan just to name a few.

    :nono: He landed rights on Margarito. He didn't land that right.

    This is truth I must admit. But it's not like the shots were that far off it either. And he would double up and triple up on flush rights.

    Even so if he landed that shot on Margarito while Tony was fresh in the fight and Mosley did not land a follow up then I'd imagine Margarito would not even buckle.
