I actually agree with a lot of what you wrote. Wilder has balance issues, leaky defense, can't fight backing up (although he has decent lateral movement), and cant fight on the inside. I dont remember ever denying this and if I did, im agreeing with it now.

That being said, being pressured by a guy 40 lbs lighter and several inches shorter is a totally different experience to being pressured by a guy 40 lbs heavier and inches taller. You're an intelligent and observant person and I don't know if you've ever competed in striking but i dont feel like I need to point out the glaring differences here.

Fury is also faster of both hand and foot than Frazier or Rocky with absurdly long arms. He isn't even 50% the pressure fighter they were but those are major factors that add to the pressure.

Fury also managed to land a perfect ear drum shattering punch that made wilder even more off balanced and disoriented for the rest of the fight. I dont see Frazier or Rocky landing too many ear punches on a 6'7 target. I think Fury might have won anyway but let's not pretend this wasnt a factor.

Lastly, Fury had a very good game plan to tire Wilder out. Get off first, then immediately tie up before Wilder can retaliate or counter and lean on him with his 270 pound frame or use choke holds to drain him. The latter part of his plan was technically illegal but i can't fault Fury for the ref not doing his job. Point being, the 5'10 Rocky and Frazier would not and could not use this jab and lean+choke hold combo to drain wilder.

I do agree the way to beat wilder is with pressure and in fighting but I just don't see short cruiserweight sized pressure fighters being able to pull it off without getting blasted into smitherines at some point. Maybe fight of the century Frazier or Rocky of the Walcott fight if they manage to avoid too many bombs but i just have a hard time believing they'd last long enough to drag wilder into deep waters in the later rounds. Again, a far more quick footed elusive fury still got dropped hard 2x in the 1st fight and got rocked Pretty bad a few times in the 2nd fight so I don't see how the aggressive face forward Frazier and especially rocky are going to somehow not get hit all night.

Uh because it's not that simple? Frazier was a relentless work horse and couldn't put a dent in Bonavena in 2 fights but lighter hitting Ali was the only man to KO him. Styles and size do matter despite what some people believe.

Rocky isn't 6'9 with long arms or 270. Nor does have a quarter of Fury's ring IQ or hand speed. The type of pressure theyre bringing is like night and day.

Fury is NOT fast of hand or foot. He just knows what he’s doing.

Funny, I am old enough to remember last night when Andre Ward was gushing over Fury's speed.

But what does silly Andre know?

I don’t care what Ward thinks. He looks to be of average speed maybe on the slower side when compared to men much lighter. I suppose in the land of overweight nobody’s of this era he may seem average or above but compared to better decades he’s not even close to be considered fast. Smart, great reach, great reflexes, and he’s roided up. Man of many talents but speed ain’t one em imo.

Just because he lost to a man a foot taller and nearly 100lbs larger then Rocky with a totally different style doesn't mean Wilder loses to Maricano. I'd still pick Wilder by early ko his power is on a whole different level to anyone Rocky fought would have 11" reach advantage I believe 9" in height and a good 40lbs. I understand Rocky has many fans here but surely ppl realise size is an actual factor when high level boxers fight.

Against popular belief, and will probably upset some people, but if wilder can negotiate distance ( like he should), he forces the ref to stop the fight. I say that with a heavy heart because I obviously rate Marciano way above Wilder but h2h the size and reach differential would be way too much. It's not really a fair comparison. I dont want to ignore rocky's perseverance or work ethic here, but I just cant see him staying on the inside all night against an opponent who has that kind of frame. Please school me if I'm wrong. Writing this hurt my soul

    Wait a damn second...
Wilder the guy who KO'd by a feather fisted Fury can take a punch? His chin is hid by his physical dimensions that's why it took the larger Fury to find it.

Everybody should have figured out that Wilder did not have the best chin, long before the events of the weekend.

I give Frazier a better shot against Wilder, in fact I think he beats him.Conversely I pick Rocky to beat Joe.

Any halfway decent pressure fighter with a decent chin is gonna wreck wilder. Said it previously on these wilder posts. The man can’t box. He’s a physical freak who never took his craft seriously and it shows. Blueprint is out now he won’t have a good career going forward.

Let me ask you this, how is Frazier going to beat Wilder ?

Fury needed two tries while almost getting counted out.......

How is Frazier replicate what a 6'9 275 pound mover who can fight on the in and out side, has a great jab and can maul pretty good using his size who also has a great but not granite chin.

Would Frazier get up from the shots in the 12Th from the first fight?\

Is a 205 pound 5'10 fighter , bully, maul and set up everything up with a crisp one two and eating the in coming against a 6'7 232 pound fighter with fight ending one punch power ?

Why was this Superman bounced twice ;like a ping pong ?

Wilder went out in 7.....Superman went out in 2 with countless knock downs

    Please advise
