Wilder throwing Breland under bus

I agree with you, Bayless was poor, he is rarely good.

I've watched it back and even when Bayless was separating them, he got between them, the fighters moved back and yet he still held his arms out a little too long, it looked like he was trying to give Wilder extra seconds.

The point deduction was bizarre, they were both hitting after the order to break, after the point deduction from Fury.. Wilder did exactly the same thing and Bayless did nothing.

I'm not saying he is the only referee to favour the home fighter, turn on a Matchroom show, nearly every fight it happens LOL but Bayless was poor.

I think the reason he didn't say anything to Wilder is because he didn't want to highlight how bad Wilder was getting beat, if Bayless is saying "show me something or it's over" it's really not a good look and if Wilder doesn't do anything then he has to stop it.

And the reason he didn't call the Dr over to check the ear is because the Dr may well have stopped it.

 

It's ridiculous. Breland showed that at least one person in his corner has brains and concern for his health. THAT'S the one who gets tossed under the bus? Not Deas??

 

This. If Wilder and Deas fire Breland I can’t see any top trainer wanting to work with Wilder. Also, anybody ever see Wilder hit the pads? Breland is the most patient trainer in the world, since Wilder often misses the target on the pads, which either jacks up the trainers wrists or the trainers fingers.

Look how many times Wilder misses the target by a mile. You can see Breland wince in pain every time Wilder misses and pounds on his fingers or thumb.

If Breland had any integrity as a trainer why did he not walk away from Wilders camp if Wilder was not bothering to work properly on his craft? Why did he continue to stick around for paycheques?

 

If Mark Breland is good at his job then why can't Wilder box worth a damn?

 

Wilder is trash, why is everyone surprised? This is the same dude that wants a body on his record, downplayed his own brother's (albeit limited) success and taunted AJ after the Ruiz loss.

He is insecure, deluded and has a ridiculous ego.

Breland had to take some responsibility for that style. Wilder fights like a Frankenstein monster, one punch at a time, and hands low. He had been getting away with it for a long time and even against Ortiz he did nothing for half the fight waiting for one punch. There are jokes about Ortiz being 60 years old but Wilder fights like he's 70 sometimes. Looks like no one in the corner encouraged any 3 punch combos or consistent 1-2's on the pads. No one prepared him for anything else, or to expect that someone might try to back him up. How the **** were they expecting to beat AJ, Ruiz, or even someone like Chisora that would take the fight to him.

Complete failure from the whole team, including Wilder. He was stumbling straight back into the ropes in the fight like a novice, and backed into a corner just waiting for Fury to unload. He needs a real trainer with a vision and strategy, but they have been doing this **** so long, he might never be able to change. With that said, a lot of fighters have had to change, even late in their careers, and Wilder now has no choice since everyone will try to pressure the **** out of him in fights.
