Fury V Wilder 3

Not at all that was a special performance. Just maybe there were signs that wilder might be heading towards the latter part of his career.

Apparently hes blaming the suit and will go straight for a rematch. Got to respect him if that happens.

Fury beat him by boxing him in the 1st fight and this time bulldozed him. Walkes him down out punched wilder, bullied him pushed him around and stopped him. Fury just has his number i think.

 

Behave he should retire ffs.

Everyone isn't 6'9, 275lbs with big octopus arms. Not too mention furys boxing ability.

Fury's already proved he's the better fighter twice, what's the point?

 

Wilder will engage the rematch clause and take the third fight. Him and Hayman will want the belt back in the states.

It will sell and still generate a huge amount of money but it doesn't really appeal to me all the much after the way Fury completely bossed him on the weekend.

Fury has now beat him on the back foot after being on the sesh for 3 years only to get robbed...… now he's gone and knocked him out boxing on the front foot.

He's got Wilder's number.

I'd like to see Fury vs Whyte and AJ now.

Yeah it's a shame for Whyte because he's the main loser from this situation. I know he talks a lot of nonsense, but Fury said to Whyte's fake brother that if Wilder didn't take the rematch he'd give Whyte a shot. You'd assume that would've been in the summer or September time.

If you take him at his word, you have to assume (if Fury sticks to having 2 more fights, Fury beats Wilder again and AJ beats Pulev) that Fury's next two fights will be Wilder and then a huge AJ unification fight.

Where does that leave Whyte? Even though I think Fury would beat him reasonably comfortably, he definitely deserved a shot.

 

I dont feel sorry for Whyte as he has turned down a number of chances, but out of all the heavies not to have a belt is there one more deserving of a shot than him?

Its a fight I wouldn't mind seeing to be honest as there isn't much else out there.

 

I'm not an expert on all the ins and outs of who turned down who (you'll have to ask @Aydamn). In my opinion though Whyte has earned his shot, he's game, brave and has improved a great deal since that AJ loss.

 

Wilder is 34 not 40 or something. He started late in the game, is athletic been active, was no way on slide. Fury was at 50% in first fight and still should have won fight. The dfference between them is simple, Wilder is world class (because of power, unorthdox shots and speed and range), whilst Fury has the ability of an ATG. So just levels apart.

Wilder wasn't past his prime. His wins against Breazeale and Ortiz last year were as good as any he has ever had. At 34 and in great condition and with not much in terms of really punishing fights or extensive amateur career, he probably had a couple of years and a few decent fights left in the tank. But the beating he took off Fury the other night might have changed all that. Psychologically he's possibly been reduced to a shell now, and physically he might have sustained some damage, who knows.

 

This is it. The best fight the best, one takes a beating and suddenly becomes "crap". Wilder fought the best version of Tyson Fury we've seen with an excellent gameplan and all the physical advantages. Don't forget a relatively green, cautious Tyson Fury made Wladimir Klitschko look terrible as well.

Wilder still ices the lot for me, including AJ and I've been saying that since his first fight with Ortiz when he showed great heart, chin and phenomenal power when hurt. Fury took and dodged punches on Saturday night that most others wouldn't.

You may not rate Ortiz highly, but knocking him spark out twice are two top results and if AJ did it, it'd be thrown into or above the Parker, Ruiz category of wins he has that so many rave about. Icing Breazele in round 1 is also very impressive. Nobody did it before including AJ, who it took until the second half of the fight to get him out of there.

Unfortunately Wilder will likely invoke the trilogy, get badly beaten again and run with his money. I'd love to see him in with other top ten guys. It's also tragic we'll never see the AJ fight because on paper that's the best fight in boxing and winnable for Wilder IMO.

I said to someone else who was saying wilder only fought bums, what about blasting brezeale out in a minute whilst Joshua needed 6 rounds and had to go through the gears to do it?
