I am able to effortlessly carry my 235lb friend over on one shoulder and walk down a long street. I am not a professional athlete... just a weekend warrior who spends most of his time behind a desk.
Having read his excuse its lame at best. A 40 pound costume is not going to do what he claims. I've witnessed blokes run marathons in their full army outfit, including their 60 pound rucksack!! It took over 3 hours for their legs to be shot. Sorry Deontay I'm not buying it
I squat 225 for 20 reps... full depth... why would walking be any harder than that? Dont people cheat on squats by going down a few inches...to make it easier? Was the costume the reason he lost? No. However, carrying an extra unnecessary near 50lbs for however long before a 12 round championship bout isn’t the smartest thing to do.
Can you imagine if Wilder decided to quit boxing for a quiet life and took a part-time job as a courier to keep busy? If you’d ordered something heavy and saw him get out of the van, it would be in your best interests to dash outside and help if you wanted it to reach the door in one piece.
