Would it be better for Wilder to get a new trainer and a new team or is it too late to change him ?
I think he should and he needs someone who is not a arse licker and a yes man, he definitely needs to change or he is going nowhere.

He should now after shouting his mouth off. But in my opinion he needs no more Yes men and if I was getting rid of anyone it would be Jay Deas. Breland protected his fighter and did the right thing. Wilder should have come out and backed him. He did nothing the whole fight and was getting pummelled

Mark Breland is the only person he shouldn't replace. Breland has done a fairly good job with a number of fighters, Breland was also a tall long fighter in his respective weight class (WW) so he understands the dynamics of fighting shorter guys.

Wilder not only should but i think he needs to get new training team, plus in relation to the expert advice he would get from a good trainer, he must understand why he has two ears and one mouth, so that we can listen twice as much he speaks, advice is only good if you follow it.

He’s never going to be as skilled as the likes of Fury. He’s too far along in his career for a total reinvention. But he could improve very significantly with good trainers that he actually listened to. He has great physical tools. Good coaching would allow him to make much more of them. Even just working on nothing but his jab would make him far harder to beat if he would actually take instruction.

There are several good trainers out there, but the thing that Deontay Wilder must do is accept the defeat with a mature mind and concentrate on regaining his title back. A good choice would be Buddy McGirt or Freddie Roach, if his ego would allow these choices. He needs to cut out the weak imitation of Muhammad Ali and get serious. No more excuses about silly outfits. I think it would be possible for Wilder to come back, if he is hungry for the title.

No need to fix what's not broken. Just wear a lighter cosplay suit next time, make sure Anthony Dirrell is barred from being ringside, ensure that Mark Breland has no access to towels, and put in a request with the commission for them to appoint a foreign referee instead of a home country one like Kenny Bayless.

DW is who he is. No trainer is going to help him at this point because at the end of the day DW does what he wants to do and that includes training. We've seen little to no improvement in his boxing skills since he came on the scene and that lands on him.

Probably bring Lennox and Harold knight into camp now but I doubt he would want to be his actual coach
I don't think it's possible to change his style. With those long arms he needs space to land his punch and by pushing forward on him he has no answer.
Wilders spindly legs are the big problem, how do you get him to learn some footwork. He needs to learn to jab but I think his bones are too long to ever look coordinated.

If he is going to be who he is, then he ought to forget about being a champion ever again. Promoters promote fights, not mouthy fighters. Just for the money, what else is new, very original. That is what is killing boxing. No one is original anymore.

I don't think it really matters, they could reanimate the dead body of Manny Steward and have him train him and he'd still end up doing what he wants, he simply doesn't have the mindset required to make the most of his talent.

He's been a pro now for 12 years and has only picked up the most rudimentary of skills. Look at what happened after the first Fury fight, did he go back and change his team or try to improve. No he made excuses, said he was sick, he had outside distractions and that he was too light. So in this rematch he simply came in heavier so he could punch harder, so he could keep Fury down this time. What kind of ******ed plan is that?

Look how he's developed as a fighter too. His boxing skills sucked so instead of improving them so he wouldn't get out boxed, he simply gave up on trying to box and would happily allow himself to be out boxed to minimise the damage he took while he waited for that one big shot to land. That's pure insanity but it's what he did and what he'll continue to do.

He simply doesn't want to put the work in to improve. Breland has said it before, he tries to teach him new skills but he gets bored or because he finds it hard he gives up trying and than just ditches the planned training session and basically goes and does drills and exercises he's good at already. There simply isn't any capacity there for him to learn because he only wants easy answers and to do things in training he's already good at, because it's easier than learning something new.

It's also why his bodyweight dropped before this most recent fight. He said that he doesn't like to eat much, but before he forced himself so he'd gain weight but eventually he got sick of it and so stopped trying to eat enough and so his weight dropped. Again another example of him not wanting to be out of his comfort zone or to put the work in. His mindset suggests he can never learn, simply because he doesn't want too.

But Wilder is broken, that is why he lost his title. He needs not to promote his fights by being loud, he needs to focus on winning back his title, because he is facing another undefeated fighter on the horizon, Father Time, and he has never lost. Promoters are supposed to promote fights, fighters do not. Trying to be Muhammad Ali does not get it done. There was only one.

Who the **** is Jay Deas? He struck lucky with Wilder and I doubt we'll ever hear of him training anyone of note ever again.

I think that a new team would be the first thing in order, what Wilder did the other night obviously did not work. But Wilder needs to be humble, accept this and embrace change. He needs to cut out the loud talk and work on getting the title back.

True. He needs to step back down to the minor leagues and stay down in them. Too much real man business up at the elite level.
