"You can't call [Fury] an all-timer because the bully [Wilder] just hadn't been bullied yet. The bully beat a lot of people, don't get me wrong. But if you look back at the names on [Wilder's] record, they don't add up to the names on Mikey Tyson's record. The only person that has a record that we knew anything about — and he never had a professional career and was a celebrated amateur, at best -- was [Luis] Ortiz. Ortiz was a good fighter but with his lack of pro experience, Wilder took him into the deep water last time and drowned him.

"That's the only real fighters I see on his record that you can say this guy is a real credible fighter because of his amateur career because he hasn't beaten anybody as a pro either. So when you look at it, Tyson Fury did take a bully that hadn't been beat yet and no one thought could be beat and he walked him down and beat him. Right now, he still has to beat a few more fighters to become one of the greats but he is a great fighter. I told Tyson Fury about 4-5 years ago that if you get yourself together and rededicate yourself, you could beat all these guys. That's what he's doing right now."

With Fury, you definitely need to take into consideration where he has come from. Pretty amazing feat. In reality though he didn't beat much in Wilder. Double edged sword. I obviously don't rate Wilder as a belt holder but he's still a good scalp from how far back Fury has come.

The Heavyweight is so thin in talent, especially from an ATG POV, Jack Dempsey was a Light Heavyweight. Joe Louis being the only Heavyweight with some real P4P power on his punches, Walcott was a small man moving up, Marciano was a tough Small man beating up Opiod numbed Joe Louis & older small Walcott....Patterson was a talented Super Middleweight exploiting big guys, Liston was a real-life Criminal who decided to start beating up people as a boxer at the late age of 22! He exposed Heavyweights & Patterson was personally begged by John F Kennedy to duck him, that makes Liston the genuine Baddest Man in the Planet. Muhammad Ali is the second great natural talent after Joe Louis, he beat Liston in the first one, then Liston was cashed out in the second....After Muhammad Ali closed shop in the 1980s, came 5'11" Mike Tyson to destroy the out of shape boxers who decided to relax in Heavyweight, Light Heavyweight Holyfield dialed up Tyson number twice...Tyson whispered in his ears...We are the best Heavyweights of this era....Lennox Lewis an average boxer with decent skills, but a genuine Heavyweight Frame was able to beat Tyson with ease & Holy in a rough war...Then Lewis found an equally Stiff Giant...Barely beat him...the dark age of Heavyweights saw Roy Jones Jr a Junior Middleweight outbox John Ruiz, Roy Jones Jr had enough sense not to challenge the actual Heavyweight Champion at that time W-V Klitshcko, Light heavyweight Tarver sparks Roy Jones Jr. & the Heavyweight was back in the dark age of Hugging, Ruiz & Wlad power hugging opponents. An improved Wlad eventually hugs everybody, Tyson Fury became the first boxer to outbox Wlad...Turns out Wlad was just an P4P average boxer who couldn't deal with Fury bigger frame, or maybe Fury is just a better boxer....Deontay Wilder comes into the scene sparks 40 Heavyweights becomes acclaimed as the Hardest puncher in human evolution, the Body builder gets beatdown by Andy Snickers Ruiz, so this leaves the G.O.A.T. honors to go for the two Undefeated Heavyweights in their peak,

Tyson Fury survives a sure Knockout in the first fight vs the Hardest Puncher in Human history, Tyson Fury comes back in the second fight & becomes the only man to Stop Wilder

Roy Jones never was able to face a "Deontay Wilder" at any weight class, let alone come back from a deadly knockdown & stop his foe in the rematch

That is why Tyson Fury can be considered the G.O.A.T Heavyweight (obviously Deontay Wilder wants to ruin this for Tyson Fury & send him to 2nd spot) but as of now its Tyson Fury....In Contrast....Its Very difficult to make Roy Jones Jr. the G.O.A.T. in any division

Yes Roy was indeed blatantly robbed in the Seoul Olympics BUT It also made his career. How many times did Roy fight outside the US???
He said he was afraid of being robbed lol
    Roy need to keep quiet

I don't understand why this question is even being asked. Its if your talking about someone who's retired. Hes 31 coming of the second biggest fight of his career. Why not ask the question when he retires? o_O Talk about stating the obvious.

Well, Fury has said the same thing about Wilder's record.
Everyone who knows boxing knows that Wilder's record sucks.

Fury isn't an all-time great yet but we knew ever since he beat Wladimir Klitschko that he is a special talent. It's good to see him back on form.

Roy is right in regards to the Wilder win but you have to factor in the fact Fury also beat Wlad the dominant champion for a decade and did so easily, that along with how Fury has come back from being 400lbs, drug addled, mentally shot, mess to win a title again is remarkable.

But I don't think Fury is an ATG, at least not yet. He's yet to really prove he's the best of his generation, he needs to fight and beat Joshua, once he does that, he will have beaten the previous dominant champ and then beaten the 2 serious rivals to his own dominance, that would make him the best of his generation and put him on peoples ATG lists.

Roy is right. Two big victories doesn't make you an ATG and it sure doesn't make you the heavyweight GOAT. Like all big fights, the winner gets hyped up to the gills. People go crazy. If AJ beats win people will call him a "overrated bum". It's part of boxing.

I'd say that Fury was ATG off the back of Klitschko alone. Him beating Wilder was just Fury demonstrating the Emperor has no clothes

Roy's points are logical and no issue with anyone who agrees with him... but I don't, Fury will go down as an ATG no doubt, he's held EVERY single major title and never lost any of them in the ring. Some belt defences would absolutely solidify his status, as well as beating Joshua and being undisputed, but he's an ATG either way, and I say that not as a particularly big fan of the guy.

Praise be, I think they're finally getting it.

Props to whoever had the idea of carving the doubts about Wilder's record on the moon by the way. I think that may have finally helped get the message across.

He needs to face and beat Joshua. Do that and you've won everything you can win, beaten the old king and the young pretender. That, along with the Wilder win would seal it.

However if AJ beats Fury he also gets entry. He'll have won everything you can win as well as his Olympic gold. Though some will say without Fury's big wins on away soil he'd need to see off Wilder or another challenger to properly silence any doubters.

If it happens it's the biggest fight in world boxing for many, many years.
