No, Wilder was dropped, Fury`s body shot was far more powerful than Wepner`s.

When a punch lands and you go down, you're going to get called for a knockdown. Those are the breaks.

Neither guy (Ali or Wilder) went down FROM the pain inflicted by a body shot. Both were tripping backward as the body shots land. That's clear.

Wilder's left foot is on top of his right foot as he's falling down. You can see it in as the video loops from that angle.

Stand up. Put your left foot on top of your right foot, now lean back. You'll go down whether someone is throwing a punch at you or not. That's basically what happened to both. (In Ali's case, it was Chuck's foot.)

Yep, Wilder was never hurt, he was just tired. He looked really tired in the corner, taking unanswered punches to the body and head. He was ready to go down from tiredness, not damage inflected by punches. That wasn’t a towel they threw in, it was a blanket so he didn’t get cold when he was sleeping. I hear he has sleep apnea and is getting treated.

Regardless of your clutching at straws, a punch was landed and Wilder went over, hence it was rightly called a knockdown and come August, Fury will make the fight trilogy 3 and 0 to Fury with another humiliating ass paddling for Wilder which will hopefully send the excuse making shithouse into retirement.

Wilder is turning into a caricature of himself and is a total ****ing embarrassment to the sport.

Good god man, we all know what happened and by describing it the way only you saw it is madness.

I suppose the ref was telling Wilder to take it easy on Tyson, when a gust of wind blew the towel over to the corner where he was standing and he stopped it on a false understanding of the situation...

And yes we know, Wilder was 6rds up going into that controversial 7th!!

Because they have agreement to do so? As any champion does...that’s the first reason that comes to mind.

I told somebody in one of the other threads the “body shot” knockdown was a balance issue. Thanks for providing evidence of that.

That isn't a reason though. That is a stipulation. Huge difference there. As a Boxing fan I don't really need to see anymore. The fights haven't been competitive other than Wilder's two knockdowns.

I respectfully disagree, I understand the sentiment, because you’re only as good as your last performance. That memory of the first fight is skewed by Fury performing better than expected, but the implication he dominated that fight or whatever just isn’t reality, IMHO. He was the better fighter Saturday for sure, no argument there.

I agree, Wilder will easily KTFO Fury next time. I mean sure, Deontay did lose every round on all but one judges scorecard. Sure, he got out-landed in power shots 56 to 18. Yes, he got knocked down twice, thrown down another time and then just fell over once. Obviously, he was also bleeding profusely out of his ear and spitting massive amounts of blood out into a bucket in between rounds. It’s fair to say also that Mark Breland May have saved his god damned life by throwing the towel when he did. Other than that though, Deontay was doing GREAT and had that big Gypsy BUM right where he wanted him!! BOMB SQUUUUUAAAAAAAADDDD!!!!!!

Also, that cosplay outfit was too heavy.

That was one of the most comprehensive sustained beatings we have seen at the top level in quite some time. Stop splitting hairs and grow up a little. This thread is embarrassing.

What do you have to add about the third knockdown that wasn’t called when the ropes were the only thing that kept Wilder in his feet?
