It doesn't much, as we know Wilder's opposition, but only 3 titlefights against 18 is just too big of a gap to ignore.
I disagree. Many of Lennox' opponents were beltholders or even multiple champions, and he has some of the consensus "best who never held a title" heavyweights on his list too, in Ruddock, Tua and Golota.
There's a catch when it comes to the 90's I agree. A lot of them looked a lot better because they could dope up to the brim, which is a lot harder nowadays. But I myself favor a whole lot of the guys that Lewis disposed of over Wilder, and some would make it look easy.
How would Wilder ever have beaten guys like Mercer, McCall, Tua, Vitaly and Tucker who just don't fall down due to their iron chins and were much better boxers with a lot of power?
Maybe he would have gotten a DQ win over Golota, before getting KTFO... And then there's Holyfield. It wouldn't be pretty.

yeah, Wilder maybe wouldn't have beat many of them, I agree.
But Fury is a clear level above Wilder.
And Fury's best win is a 39 year old Wladimir, who was over the hill, BUT would have still beat a lot of those names, I reckon.
And I think Fury beat Wlad clearly too.

So, I think Fury, despite his ridiculous 2 1/2 out of the ring, is doing well, but needs to stay unbeaten and beat another 3 or 4 top quality fighters in style and he's in the discussion then.
He lacks the resume to be compared to Lennox Lewis at the moment but I think it's possible over the next 4 or 5 years that he could be equal or surpass him.

I kind of doubt he will though. He really shot himself in the foot with the 2 1/2 year hiatus that put him back. If he'd had stayed focussed at the time, back in 2016, he might already be a lock as an all-time great now.

0 defenses? Fury has defended with Schwarz, Wallin and Wilder 2 the title Wilder robbed to him in the first fight.

Against unranked opposition? Neither Schwarz as Wallin were ranked remotely high enough to be considered titledefences for the WBC, even with their very lose way of ranking challengers.
And on top of that, you don't count robberies historically... Axel Schultz didn't have 7 defences of the Heavyweight championship, and Norton didn't have 3 of those... That's just insane reasoning!

Fury’s best win is a 40 year old Klitschko . Joshua beating Joseph Parker was a better win than Fury beating wilder

Two of lewis biggest win was against a unify heavyweight champion past prime holyfield and a prime Vitali when Lewis was way past his prime. That prime version of Vitali would beat every other Fury opponents.

You forget Fury was knockdown vs A cruiserweight that's never known to have a punching power in Cunningham? Lol. And fury barely beat Wallin. Sure lewis tko lost twice and won the rematch twice but it means lewis just like fury has beaten every fighters he's face.

Some of you guys make it seem two time world champion Steve Cunningham is D1cky Ecklund

Tyson Fury has two big historical accomplishments that will be hard to match:
    • Only man to outbox Wladimir Klitschko, 18 months later Joshua barely survived an older Wlad
    • Only man who to go 1-1-0 vs Deontay Wilder the Hardest Puncher in boxing history

Yup an "old" wlad.<<<Keep saying that and realize that's fury biggest win in his career vs an old wlad in one of the most boring heavyweight title fights in a long time. And joshua beat Fury left overs in the very same Wlad.

He'll need 10 title defenses, vs quality opponents to get into the conversation.

Was Cunningham ever known as a big puncher? Simple question.

Wlad 3.0 was always boring in his 21-0 winning streak (best version of Wlad), Fury simply beat him in his own game. Nobody was ever able to outbox Wlad the way Fury did, of course this has to do with Tyson Fury being an agile 6'09" boxer who completely neutralized Wlad. Wlad had no other way to beat a taller man, he was unable to hurt Fury or threaten him in any way.

Joshua a slightly taller man than an 18 month rustier older Wlad, had to fight a battle of life & death to beat Wlad in a very hard fight.

Tyson Fury has his 6'09" frame advantage, the only threat he ever had was Deontay Wilder Right hand, nobody else can drop Fury for a 10 count, nobody else can add anymore blemishes on Tyson Fury record.

We understand Joshua needs to be relevant, but it no longer serves any purpose...Joshua has to wait for Deontay Wilder vs Tyson Fury war to be settled, then he will get his long due L from either ATG

I don't reckon Fury has enough time left to leave the sort of impression on the sport that Lewis did. He would need to keep fighting for at least another 3 years and remain active.

But Lewis went back and beat both guys.
