Didn't say Hearns doesn't have any big wins, Just that his two biggest fights saw him stopped by Leonard and Hagler.
SRL 1 was no doubt his biggest fight, BUT so was SRL 2, at least for Tommy, and Hearns floored him twice and WON that fight. IT was not Tommy's fault and had no control over that Ray made him wait 8 years for it . .. As far as the Hagler fight, we all know that Hearns wasn't a great MW , and not nearly his best weight, maybe even his fourth, but definitely no better than his 3rd .. And from that FAIR standpoint ,, it is not his second biggest fight. We all know in name it is one of the most iconic fights ever … BUT it is no different than Duran getting knocked out by Hearns early , as Duran did MOST of his work as a LW, as Tommy did at lower weights as well. Fair enough that it can be argued who has the better resume ,, May never lost ..But I will say this Hearns was the WAY more active fighter and was willing and did fight anyone anywhere anytime …. and Mayweather can never come close to making that claim Cheers escudo
Bit of a handful no doubt. Liked giving it the barry .No doubt he could fight like the devil himself. We probably won't see his like again. A legend
I take issue with one accusation. Duran didn't insult Leonard's wife. Not at press conference, not on the streets of Montreal, not at the weigh in. It never happened. He did have sex with her right in front of Ray at the final press conference but I didnt hear any insults. Now that I think about it that may have bothered Sugar a bit. Got him frazzled, took his heart. Juanita was Benitez sister so he killed two birds with one stone. My Vote GOAT
Well Benitez beat him so did Leonard for that!He got whoopin twice for one girl which is not good for someone who is a G.O.A.T haha!
Sort of the whole point, he knew he was out of shape and that Leonard was in great shape. More important, he knew Leonard knew it and he knew Leonard could clown him and he wouldn't be able to cut the ring off on him like in Montreal. Look at Duran's body, he isn't in the right condition, he needed to be in supreme condition to beat Leonard and he wasn't, is that Leonard's fault? No.
