What's wrong with this guy? Seriously Breland was the only one of Team Wilder who was well decorated in the sports of boxing. Throwing the towel maybe saved Wilder's career and now he's blaming Breland about the defeat. Should Wilder hire a new head coach? Some one decorated and strict. Like Teddy Atlas? https://metro.co.uk/2020/02/27/deon...tside-changing-room-tyson-fury-loss-12316895/
Think he's making himself look a dick tbh... When he first said it I thought... That's just the anger talking and he will come round that it was the right decision.... But he seems to just keep making excuses and talking **** it's pathetic.. He should be greatful to Breland of anything.. He was done and on his way to a shortened career
He is in denial and looking for someone to blame. Luckily so is his "team" so singling out someone and making them the scapegoat diverts attention away from your own failings. You see it whenever anything goes wrong in any group activity. Someone will be singled out and the everybody else will tow the line in order to keep their position.
It's an awful decision If he had of continued? He would of either been, 1. Flat on his back 2. Ref would of eventually saved him He could also ended up with serious brain dramage He has kids and he shouldn't be so selfish I understand these guys are gladiators, but he wasn't in this fight this was no way similar to Frazier being pulled out in a competitive fight with Ali (which was also the right decision, as Joe couldn't see anything coming at him)
Breland betrayed Deontay's trust. Now he's back in Alabama facing the consequences. The bomb squad and Mr Haymon aren't too impressed with his conduct, put it that way!
However inept and clueless Tyson made him look in the ring, it's as nothing compared to the damage he's done his own reputation in the days since. Blaming his costume, his opponent, the referee and throwing the man who had the stones to stop him getting a life altering beating under a bus. He's quite possibly boxing's worst ever loser.
Just goes to show how immature he is, not that was really a secret if we're honest. Things didn't go his way and he isn't mature enough to deal with it and accept he was to blame in part for the loss and is looking for other people to put all the blame on the loss on so he doesn't have to face up to the reality he is also to blame. Compare that to when Joshua lost. People said he should fire McCracken, instead he showed his loyalty and trust in his mentor and together they overcame adversity and won the rematch. He's literally firing Breland for doing his job and giving Deas a pass who didn't do his job in camp or during the fight and look out for his fighters best interests.
Someone has to be the scapegoat when you can't look in the mirror and admit you can't dismantled by the better fighter.
When Wilder gets ktfo again in his next fight he will see that Breland threw the towel in because he cares. He lost his 0 and that meant so much to him so he hurting right now. He will see in time and I'm sure he will apologise for making these ridiculous/hilarious excuses.
Where was Breland when Wilder needed instructions in the corner on how to beat Fury? hmmmmm crickets. Honestly, can you tell me 1 thing that Breland has added to Wilder's game, besides throwing in a towel?
Wilder derived all his mental strength, and confidence, and power, and satisfaction, and pride from being undefeated... from having that ZERO. He would wake up and be pleased with himself that he is the king, he walks over everyone, no one can beat him or make him feel small. Just a bully/narcissist mentality... until he has that taken away from him. And now he cannot project himself as the baddest man on the planet anymore... his mind cant compute... he has to blame something or someone to justify the loss in his head... other than the primary reason that hhe just wasnt good enough or strong enough. Wilders mentality is going through serious problems right now... he no longer has "baddest man on the planet" facade to milk or derive strength from ...
To my understanding, Deontay Wilder is taking a hiatus and will come to a decision at the end of March regarding Mark Breland. If I were Mark Breland, that would be enough for me to take the high road and bolt.
I agree with this. A few weeks ago, I said that I didn't believe Wilder was mentally weak, a dullard perhaps but not mentally weak going into fights. In 6 days he has completely disproved what I said about his mental weakness. I feel in the next couple of weeks we're gonna see Breland bow out of Wilder's corner.
