Agree with a lot of what you say but Hide was clearly worse than Chisora.

Vitali KO'd Hide in two and Chisora gave Vitali a tough fight which should have been scored closer that it was. Vitali was near end of career by then but still WBC champion.

Hide won WBO title twice when the WBO was lightly regarded beating, respectively, the substandard Michael Bentt and a shot Tony Tucker to win title.

On the first occasion he held the WBO title, Hide was destroyed by Riddock Bowe in his first defence, being knocked down 7 times in six rounds.

On the second occasion he held the WBO title, Hide defended twice successfully with quick knockouts against the truly dreadful Damon Reed and Willi Fischer before Vitali put him out his misery. Hide ended his career with 49 wins and 4 losses but almost all his opponents were of a shocking standard.

Chisora has 32 wins and 9 losses, apart from the aforementioned loss to Vitali, his defeats include the following.

Two highly competitive losses, including one by a controversial split decision, to current WBC Interim Champ and BoxRec number 6 Dillian Whyte.

A split decision loss to current IBF mandatory and BoxRec number 8 Kubrat Pulev.

A highly controversial split decision loss to Robert Helenius which most people think he won.

A 5th round stoppage to Cruiserweight legend, and former WBA Heavyweight champion, David Haye, where he was competitive up to the stoppage.

A clear but competitive points loss to current WBC and Ring Magazine champ Tyson Fury followed by a comprehensive defeat in the rematch where he quit after never being in the fight.

A close Majority Decision loss to Agit Kabayel where Chisora was not at his best.

Chisora's best wins were against Takam, Szpilka, Price, Kevin Johnson, Malik Scott and Danny Williams. However his many competitive defeats to very top level opposition is what sets him well above Herbie Hide.

I'm mostly talking about the teenagers who just started watching boxing and think that whoever is hot at the moment that they joined is the greatest of all time. They have no context for the present moment. Their depth of knowledge is shallow and their opinions are uninformed. After physically boxing, watching older fights is the best way to educate oneself about the sport.
