Oh please. Enough already. Check the current Ring ratings.

#5 rated Ruiz, #6 rated Povetkin and #7 rated Parker ARE ALL rated BELOW #4 rated Luis Ortiz, who Wilder has knocked out twice. (LOL)

    All of them.

In his last five fights, Wilder has faced:

    * Current #4 rated Luis Ortiz
    * Current World Champion Tyson Fury
    * Current #16 Dominic Breazeale
    * Current #4 rated Luis Ortiz (again)
    * Current World Champion Tyson Fury (again)

And, in his next fight, Wilder is fighting The Current World Champion Tyson Fury (for yet a third time).

Joshua, on the other hand, has fought:

    * Current #26 rated Carlos Takam
    * Current #7 rated Joseph Parker
    * Current #6 rated Alexander Povetkin
    * Current #5 Andy Ruiz
    * Current #5 rated Andy Ruiz (again)

And Joshua is fighting Pulev next. Who isn't even ranked by Ring.

So CATCH UP. There is only ONE CONTENDER in the current top 10 who has been fighting opponents at the very top in the last couple years. And it's Wilder.

Fought Ortiz when he could have fought Joshua. Didn't.

Ducked Whyte to fight Breazeale...why suddenly so interested in mandatories Deontay?

Took the Fury fight because he thought he was finished.

So by your own admission Wilder has only beaten one top 10 opponent?

The irony is Pulev, would be Wilders best win. Case closed.

And now Parker is rated behind Luis Ortiz, and Parker's fighting a 13-2 journeyman on a Jessie Vargas undercard this weekend.

And Takam just went 10 tonight with a no-hoper Michael Hunter knocked out in two rounds last year.

So much for the GAUNTET of top heavyweights Joshua has been fighting. They're all rated behind the LOWLY Luis Ortiz.

The only contender in the RING top 10 who is fighting top heavyweights is Deontay Wilder. And he'll fight the World Champ again this summer, while Joshua fights another guy who was ONCE rated at one time.

    Wake up.

The 273lbs Fury was heavier than the 268lbs Ruiz when Joshua lost to him and Wilder got absolutely battered

Wake up and smell the coffee, there's a reason Wilder never lost before. We called it out years ago.

If he had faced AJ, Klitschko, Povetkin, Whyte, Parker, Ruiz he would have several losses.

Instead he fought Szpilka, Duhurpas, Molina, Washington and Arreola.

Love how ring ratings matter now when it allows a guy who just got DOMINATED, an undeserved third crack at the lineal champ.

Nobody cared when the wbc belt and their belt holder was embarrassing themselves with bouts against - The drummer Boy, the pastry chef, the pin, the converted football player, the ghost of Arreola, and the obese buffet king rematch - what a sorry bunch and none ring rated. Really Pathetic run - finally Ortiz a ring rated opponent but one that was old and twice caught using steroids - suddenly steroids didn’t matter to the wbc pretender belt holder. But when Povetkin was found to have a minuscule and legal amount of what was a recently banned substance available in over the counter medicine the wbc pretender flew home from england forcing the cancellation of their bout.
This guy was such a fraud it’s pathetic to see the usual suspects defend him. Some like saint pat and mvc have wisely gone into hiding others have not.

Now Fury must face this pretender a 3rd time after out boxing him once and then tap dancing on his face for a TKo win. Because he is ring rated? Give me a break! The hypocrisy is unreal.

where was the cry for ring rated defenses when Eric Molina, Johan Duhaupass, Arthur Szpilka, Gerald Washington, Chris Arreola, and an obese Stiverne rematch were lined up????
Then it was as long as it’s a top 15 rated wbc contender it’s allowed.

    Crickets.

It was pretty evident for a long time Wilder was being protected and they were cherry picking. Has there been a champion who was more heavily protected? Sven Ottke while getting robberies in Germany was at least unifying titles. Wilder in contrast was fighting journeymen or guys with padded records who were lucky to be undefeated like Washington in his 5th defence.

How many mandatories did he face in a 5 year reign? Breazeale and Stiverne as he ducked Povetkin and made the WBC bend over backwards to prevent Whyte ever getting a shot.

And lets be honest he only fought Ortiz because Showtime refused to air his mandatory with Stiverne and demanded he fight Ortiz because they were sick of him fighting mismatches. Ortiz of course failed a drug test forcing Showtime to air the Stiverne defence and then Wilder fought Ortiz when it became apparent he had blood pressure issues and even then they only agreed to fight Ortiz after he signed to Haymon.

He's ducked Joshua, Wlad, Whyte and Povetkin during his reign and only fought Fury because he thought he was shot having lost over 100lbs and spent a couple of years drinking and getting high.

And the thing is most US fans knew it too, hence why he's never been a draw and his profile only grew off the back of the mad fight with Fury. Now he's without a belt and been exposed the few fair weather fans he gained will no doubt slink back under a rock.

Wilder has been one of the most protected champions at any weight in the modern era and will go down as one of the poorer heavyweight champions of all time. Certainly among the most hyped.

He's like a heavyweight Sugar Ray Leonard in the sense that he cherry picks opponents he feels he can comfortably beat. BTW, that's the only time I will mention those 2 fighters in the same breath. Unlike Wilder, Leonard is an ATG fighter who fought the best of his era. Yes, Wilder has fought Fury twice and Fury is one of the greatest heavyweights of this era but he only picked Fury because he thought that Tyson was a shell of the man who once beat Wlad.

Wilder still has a chance to improve his legacy. He will lose again to Fury assuming they fight once more and then we will see what he's made of.

    I'm not holding my breath.

My thoughts are you nailed it. I too felt he was a fraud and damaging heavyweight boxing with excessive belt milking, picking way too many non top ten guys for title shots. At least we don't have to see anymore thread like Wilder vs Lennox Lewis or how he's going to break Rocky's undefeated record.
