What a truly enjoyable fight that not many are unfortunately talking about! I was on my feet at several points in the fight. Now when I say "imagine he was 147" I don't mean him moving up to 147, what I am saying is imagine his career and all those great fights happening at 147. He would have been a massive star and I think he would have had a ton of casual fans. Nice to see him come back and look really solid against a good opponent.
Yeah, watch some Kid Gavilán then extrapolate. Or just stop imagining and watch him vs the awesome fighters he beat at 105/108/112 ect.
I don't have to imagine... I saw it. My point was that it would have been nice for a fighter like that to reach the Canelo/Mayweather/Pacquiao level instead of idiots like Broner who make the sport look bad.
It would be good, but it's hard to answer questions like this one. Although, I'd love to see a much bigger version of Chocolatito beat on Broner
LOL, as much as I dislike Broner, boxing is certainly more fun with villains in it. At one point I was really hoping Broner would become humble by the beatings but he hasn't and as long as that is the case, fans of boxing will still enjoy seeing him take the "L"s
Kid Gavilan had a 19% KO rate. Gonzalez has an 80% KO rate. The relative power is going to make a difference between how the opponents act and how they react to their opponents. Both are super skilled though.
I more meant the skilled swarming and versatility of both guys. Also, Gavalín fought much better opposition P4P.
I was absolutely thrilled watching Chocolatito get that win last night. He took that boy to school. What a fighter,
