No he is not as Lennox Lewis resume is deeper. Fury still has to prove he is the best British Heavyweight of this era by defeating Anthony Joshua which I am not sure that he will.

Morrison was definately edging it but, when Mercer got Morrison hurt, the final salvo that put him away was pretty shocking and as fragile as Morrison could be, there was never any sign of quit in him. That merciless display by Mercer tells me everything I need to know with regard to a H2H with Wilder.

Mercer would absolutely need to be at his best but he was just too tough and too aggressive for Wilder to hang with him for the full 12.

Lets see him beat AJ, then we can talk... beating those 3 will do it for me.

He needs a lot more to match Lennox. 5-10 more big fights and wins.

Fury has never even defended his title yet he the British ATG?

A few more succsssful defences against Wilder, Whyte, Joshua mega fight and a few voluntaries and mandatories and he has a real claim. He has to be dominant though; another Otto Wallin esque performance and the narrative changes again.

    Has Colin been smoking crack?

Lennox Lewis is still ahead of Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua in the all time British HW rankings. Tyson Fury hasnt even defended a major belt yet. He ran away after taking Wlad's belt, and he hasnt defended the WBC belt yet either.

As a journalist he should also know that you cant rank someone in the ATG rankings accurately until 5-10 years after they have retired. Tyson Fury is still fighting FFS, and his legacy ranking could go either way from now until he retires.

Look at the horrendous damage that RJJ did to his legacy in the last 11 years of his career. Tyson Fury is just crazy enough to do the same thing Roy did when he was shot.

No but most of us can see that Fury is something special. Like really special. His skills, personality, battle with mental health is something that has gripped us. Enjoy it. Hope he keeps his head straight.

Just because Colin Hart is well known and been around for years doesn't make what he says worth listening to.

Fury would have to beat Joshua, Uysz, White, Parker, Povetkin and maybe a young pretender like Dubios or Hrygovic to be considered in the same breath as Lewis. Fury has never defended a title, never. Colin Hart, hang your head in shame feller.

    Not even close.

Lewis would have ktfo Fury, overhand right.

Wilder had power but it’s haymaker power, he’s basically that wild man you fight in a street fight, unpredictable and can knock you the fk out. But Lewis has that power is boxing terms, he can set those shots up and place them well.

Dear god, no. I am a huge Fury fan, and argue that he is already and ATG, but realistically, he would have to unify with Joshua and stick around for a few years, making quality defenses, before we mention him with Lewis.

Before we do the head count here, I know that Lewis lost a couple on the way, and that some of the guys he beat have the usual asterix for age, disputed result, etc, but let's just do a head count.

    LEWIS
HolyfieldX2, Tyson, VitKlit, McCall, Rahman, Mason, Bruno, Akinwande, Golota, Briggs. Tua, Ruddock, Grant, Botha, Morrison, Tucker, Biggs, Weaver, Mavrovic, Mercer, Jackson

That record is so sweet, my fingertips can taste it as I type. Now for Fury...

WladKlit, Wilder, Chisorax2, Cunningham, Hammer, Johnson, Pianeta, Wallin

Hell, since we threw in Phil Jackson and Mavrovic for Lewis, we can throw in Pianeta and Wallin for Fury. The point is, one does not compare to the other yet.

Let's see Fury beat Wilder in the rematch, Joshua, Ruiz, Parker, Povetkin, and a couple of the prospects. Then we'll talk.

    Lol no where near lewis.

I love fury but cmon he's only 2 names on his resume.

Lewis was a proven ATG, fury can be an ATG too but he must beat AJ and defend against a few top 10 guys first.

AJ is closer to Lewis than fury is because it doesn't matter if you think fury would beat him or not its AJ that's taking on the best in the divison.
